Two Years Later
Two years have passed. Charlotte stands in the familiar, peaceful temple, her head bowed in prayer. The soft light filters through the stained-glass windows, casting a gentle glow on her face.
She stands in the quietness of a temple, the soft scent of incense filling the air. Her head is bowed in prayer, her lips moving silently.
She has come here today for a specific reason. She has come to pray for her beloved grandmother, who passed away 2 years ago.
The memories flood her mind, sharp and clear, as if it all happened yesterday. Sh
e remembers the moment she received the news that her grandmother had passed away.
Her heart clenches as the memory of that day replays in her mind. The initial shock and the wave of grief that had hit her like a tidal wave.
She can still recall the way her voice had trembled, the way tears spilled non-stop from her eyes.
.
FLASHBACK
Davika entered the room, her expression solemn as she crossed the threshold. Charlotte is seated by the window, her back to the room, her gaze fixed on the view outside.
Davika's footsteps are soft on the wooden floor, but in the quiet room, they sound magnified. She came close, placing a gentle hand on Charlotte's shoulder.
"Charlotte," she murmured, her voice low.
Charlotte's eyes, once filled with a hopeful light, now look haunted and sunken. She turned to look at Davika, the weariness of grief evident in her expression.
Davika stood there, looking at Charlotte with a mixture of pity and sadness. She knows this news will hit Charlotte hard, and her heart aches for the pain she's about to cause.
"Charlotte," Davika started, her voice filled with a gentle yet firm determination. "There's something I have to tell you."
Charlotte didn't speak, her expression unmoving. Her heart is already racing, instinct telling her that something is wrong, terribly wrong.
Davika took a deep breath, her voice steady as she continued. "It's about your grandmother," she said, her eyes locking with Charlotte's. "There's been an incident..."
Davika's words hang heavy in the air. The room seemed to tilt slightly, Charlotte's heart skipping a beat.
"Your grandmother..." Davika's voice falters for a second, her own eyes glazing with grief. "She got caught in the crossfire of a fight between Engfa and my group. I... I tried to talk to her, to calmly settle things down, but she was just too crazy."
