As Char and Davika continued their conversation, Engfa had finally managed to escape from the endless stream of people who wanted to talk to her. As she made her way through the crowd, her eyes scanned the hall for Char, only to find her talking and laughing with a familiar figure.
Before Char could even register what was happening, a hand snaked around her waist and yanked her out of her seat. She stumbled as she was pulled away, spinning around to see who had grabbed her.
Her heart skipped a beat as she realized it was Engfa, her eyes blazing with anger and possession. Engfa wrapped her arm around Char's waist, pulling her closer to her body.
Char opened her mouth to speak, but before she could utter a word, Engfa cut her off. "We're going," she hissed, her voice low and dangerous.
Davika, who was still seated at the bar, raised an eyebrow at the display before her. She took a nonchalant sip of her drink, watching the scene unfold with a smirk.
Char tried to protest, but Engfa's grip on her waist was firm and unyielding. She practically pulled Charlotte away from the bar, her steps quick and purposeful as she maneuvered them through the crowd.
As they moved through the hall, Engfa's fingers dug into Char's hips, her possessive grip leaving no room for argument.
Engfa dragged Char away towards a secluded corner. Once they were there, Engfa spun Char around to face her, pinning her against the wall.
"EXPLAIN," she demanded, her voice razor sharp.
Char stumbled slightly as Engfa pushed her against the wall, her body swaying slightly as the effects of the alcohol continued to take hold. Her head felt dizzy, and her thoughts were swirling in a tangle of dizziness.
"Engfa..." she began, her voice slightly slurred. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked up at Engfa, who was towering over her, her eyes glinting like a predator's.
Engfa leaned in closer, her body pressing against Char's, trapping her against the wall. "I saw you sitting at the bar, giggling and talking with Davika Hoorne. You were having a grand old time, weren't you?"
"W-we w-were just t-talking," she managed to hiccup out, her words slurring together. "Sh-she was j-just being friendly... A-accompanying m-me for a b-bit."
Engfa's eyes narrowed at Char's response, her grip on her hips tightening even more. "Friendly?" she growled, her voice low and dangerous. "She was practically pawing at you."
Char could feel the heat of Engfa's breath on her face, their bodies pressed together so close that she could feel the rise and fall of Engfa's chest against hers.
Engfa's hands moved to Char's hips, her grip tight. "You were supposed to be with me. You were supposed to be by my side. But instead, I find you hanging off someone else's arm. Laughing with someone else."
Char hiccupped slightly, stumbling over her words as she tried to explain herself. "I ss-swear," she said, her words slurring together. "I j-just f-felt so out of place. All th-these p-people... t-they only wanted to t-talk to you."
Engfa's grip on Char's hips loosened slightly as she listened to her explanation, her expression softening despite herself.
"So you decided to find someone else to keep you company instead?" she said, her voice slightly less sharp than before. She took in Char's drunken state; her flushed cheeks, her slurred speech, the way she swayed on her feet.
