Char slowly opened her eyes, the sunlight peeking through the curtains of their room. She glanced around, expecting to find Engfa beside her, but the bed was empty.

She sat up, rubbing her eyes as she realized Engfa was not in the room.

Char takes a deep breath, trying to rationalize the situation in her mind. She knew Engfa had a lot of work to catch up on, especially after their vacation. It made sense for her to be busy.

Still, a small part of Char couldn't help but feel a bit lonely without Engfa beside her when she woke up.

Boredom starts to creep in as the hours go by. Char sits on the couch, scrolling through her new phone, but her mind feels restless.

The house feels unusually quiet and empty without Engfa's presence. The loneliness gnaws at her, as She aimlessly tapped on her phone, looking through the different apps and social media, but nothing was able to hold her attention for long.

Char's gaze moves towards the corner of the room, noticing Max standing there. She sits up a bit, a small hopeful smile on her face.

As she makes eye contact with Max, she decides to approach him, her curiosity piqued.

"Max," she starts, her voice filled with a hint of hopefulness. "Do you know what time Engfa will be back?"

Max glances at Char, his expression neutral his voice straightforward.

"She'll be back in the evening," He responds, his tone matter-of-fact.

Char nods, trying to mask her disappointment. The hours suddenly feels longer as she has to wait until then to see Engfa.

Char couldn't bear the thought of just waiting around the house all day. She quickly changes out of her pajamas into something more fitting.

She grabs her phone and the black card Engfa had given her. With a determined expression, she decided she was gonna go out.

As Char was about to head out the door, Max suddenly appears in front of her, blocking her way.

He looks at her with a slight frown. "Where are you going, Miss Charlotte?"

"Please, Max," she says with a small sigh, "I've told you many times to just call me by my name. 'Miss Charlotte' makes me sound so stuffy."

She glances back up at him. "Plus, I just wanted to walk around the park for a bit. I'm bored out of my mind and I need some fresh air."

Max noded a bit reluctantly, his expression one of resignation.

"You can go mi– um, I mean Charlotte," he says, but there's a hint of reluctance in his voice. "But I have to come with you. Boss will have my head if something happens to you."
