My Job

I work now. Honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed by it. Why couldn't it be more eventful? I have no coworkers so there's no one to look at and think, "Am I better than you?" It's a gift shop in close proximity to Disneyland. We're in Garden Grove, but we sell Anaheim souvenirs. It just goes to show you that in America, only major cities are worth it. I get paid eight an hour, and it's honestly too much for what I do in my opinion. All I do is sit behind a cash register and ring up the customer's Coke for $1.99 (which I've now memorized as $2.14 if you add 8% sales tax). There's a solid 40 minutes (maybe even less) tending to customers and a solid 30 minutes cleaning and stocking the eight shelves we have in there. The other two hours and fifty minutes are spent playing solitaire on my computer. I just want there to be more action. I'd like it if the Minnie dolls (we don't have Mickey ones for whatever reason) we sold came to life and just talked to me. No one ever asks how I'm doing. There's less people around for me to ignore, and I'm starting to miss people talking to me. What I'm trying to say is that I want change in my life, and four hour shifts at a gift store isn't enough. Maybe I should snort cocaine...
