As an introverted extrovert, I genuinely have a need for meaningful connections with people, but I have a budget for how long I can entertain the relationship. Sometimes we feel like going out to the bar and have a relaxing conversation with the people around us. Other times, we just want to go to the movies and be around other people's company. If you ever ask an introvert out, it's very likely that their ideal first date would be a movie, or anything where we don't have to talk to you for a majority of the time. It's not that we don't want to be around you at all. We just don't want to be with someone we know nothing about. We need to be comfortable around you before we can talk to you. For you, you may feel like you're being set aside, but you're not. In this situation, introverts are observing you're movie manners to get a sense of what you're actually like. If by the end of the night we say "Bye! See you later!", we're highly considering you for the position of "significant other." Once you start a serious relationship with an introvert, expect to have security. Because we don't talk to a lot of people, we provide attention and support to a select few. As friends, we'll always have your back no matter what unless we don't agree with you. We'll give solid advice, but we'll need a minute to make our thoughts vocal. On paper we're refined and composed, but in practice we're clumsy and stumble on our words all the time. We're too busy taking in our surroundings of either busy streets or crowded spaces to concentrate on what we say. If you're an introverted extrovert (IE), it's different in that it's easier for you to talk to people, but when you're done, you are done. You CANNOT for any reason whatso-god-damn-ever leave the house when you're socially drained from conversation with friends. You say things you don't mean, and you will also do things you don't mean. You get very angry. If you are an IE, be careful. You're basically a ticking time bomb with an unknown fuse time.
