Mal was being a sneaky and waited until dark to go to the kitchen.

"Why are we here?" I asked. Evie shushed me.

Mal pulled out her spell book. It was open to a love spell.

"You're going to make Ben fall in love with you?" I asked.

"Ew no," she said. She flipped through the book. "Here." She spun the book around. "I'm going to make myself look like you."

I read the list of ingredients. "Lacewing flies, leeches, shredded boomslang skin?" I asked. "It takes a month to make? Seriously Mal? Is it even worth it?"

Mal glared at me. "Do I have to lock you in the closet again?" She went to the kitchen's fridge to look around for ingredients.

"Hey Mal, etc!" A girl walked into the room in PJs.

"Oh, uh, hi Nina," Mal said.

Evie whispered to me, "Prince Naveen's daughter." I rolled my eyes around my skull.

"What are you guys making?" Nina asked. "I'm hungry, but I don't feel like cooking. Mom makes me do that enough at home." She also rolled her eyes around in her skull.

"Uhhhh," Mal tried to cover the spell book. "Hair changing potion."

"It's for Mama G," Evie cut in. "She really needs it."

"No way! Can you change my hair?" Nina asked. "Mom never lets me get makeovers. She always says that your appearance doesn't matter as long as you're not a frog. Like, seriously." She touches her hair. "I want it to look cooler."

"Sure!" Mal said. "I'll make another potion for you and drop it off at your dorm tomorrow, okay? Okay, goodnight!" She shooed Nina out of the kitchen and locked the door. "Let's get started before anyone else comes in. We need to finish this tonight."

At the same time the VKs were finishing up the potion, another girl was sneaking in through the open kitchen door. She crouched behind the refrigerator, waiting for them to leave. The purple VK plucked a strand of hair from the other one, dropped it into her bowl, and drank it. The three of them left their dirty dishes in the sink and left.

Audrey crept out of the shadows. The bowl in the sink still had some liquid on it. Maybe it wasn't enough for a full spell, but she could use it.

She slipt the bowl under her arm and left the kitchen. Once she was back upstairs in her dorm room, she shook out her dress to let the dozens of rats fall out. She then grabbed a clean dress from her closet and headed to the bathroom. As the creatures got acquainted with their new home, she threw her dirtied clothes into the trash bin. She'd have to dispose of them later. There was no time to waste.
