Defeating Auradon - A Descendants Story

Chapter 42

As Bridget and Ella leave, Red and Chloe suddenly realize they don't have anywhere to go.

"It's obvious that Uliana is the one who pranked Bridget at the dance," Red says. "She's Bridget's biggest enemy."

"We need to learn more about Uliana," Chloe decides. "We can figure out how she will prank Bridget and  stop her."

"We should ask someone who knows Uliana well," Red says. "Like... her older sister."

Chloe and Red high-five and run up to the school's library to find a phone book.

When they get there, they realize they don't know what a phone book is.

"Now how are we going to learn about Uliana?" Red asks.

"At least we found a place to sleep tonight," Chloe says optimistically, pointing at a bed made of books that Spike left behind.

"Maybe we just have to ask someone else who knows her," Red reasons.

"We can trust my mom," Chloe says. "Come with me, I know where she lives."

They run all the way to Cinderella's old house.

"Ella!!!" Chloe yells, banging on Ella's front door. "Let us in! It's your new BFFs!!!!!"

Ella opens the door wearing peasant clothes like before. There's terror in her eyes.

"You have to leave," she says. "Now. Before my stepmother-"

"Who are these?" Ella's stepmother declares. Ella flinches at the sound of her voice.

"Girls from school," Ella says. "I was just telling them goodbye."

"You better or else you won't eat today," her stepmother says then she walks away.

"Sorry," Ella says, shutting the door.

"That was super rude of my mom," Chloe says. "I'm a princess. No one has treated me this way before."

Red looks around the building. "This way," she says. There's an open window, and Red climbs inside. 

"We can't do that," Ella protests.

Red holds a hand out to help Chloe up. "I'm a princess. I can do what I want."

Chloe follows her in and they find Ella sadly sweeping in a corner.

"Yo, what's up??" Red asks Ella. Ella jumps.

"I know you told us to leave, but we need to ask you something super important," Chloe says.

"Yeah," Red adds. "So, that thing with Uliana at school, it's pretty wild. Huh?"

Ella blinks. "Yeah, I guess." She glances over her shoulder.

"Why do you think Uliana hates Bridget?" Red asks.

"Well, Uliana's mean to everyone," Ella says, "but Bridget never stops being nice to her. She's the strongest person I know. She's kind, even when people are awful to her. You know how hard that is?"

"Cool," Chloe says. "And where does Uliana live?"

"She hangs out at Black Lagoon a lot," Ella says. "I only know because my step sisters once tied me in a bag and threw me in. I escaped because Uliana found me and banned me for tresspassing."

"Very cool," Red says. "Okay we'll go now so your stepmom doesn't stop you from eating today."

Ella shrugs. "It's okay. I'm used to her taking away my meals. That's why I became friends with Bridget in the first place."

"Ok see you at school!" Chloe says. She walks to the front door, breaking everything she sees on the way.

"Don't worry," she explains as Ella stares at her in horror. "You'll have much nicer things in your castle pretty soon."

Then she hops out and Red follows.
