Mal was taken away before we could do anything, and Ben forced the two of us out of his room.

"I don't know who either of you really are," he expressed, brain cells as active as ever, "but you'll be sorry if you even think I'm still in love with Mama G. This night has been the worst in my life, and I'll have to think for a long time if I'd even still be willing to marry her."

With that, he slammed the door in our faces.

Audrey was still in the hall.

"You set this up!" Evie said.

"You lied to me!" I expressed. She looked pleased with herself.

"I did not," she said. "Ben did technically have a meeting now. I just didn't tell you that he wouldn't be attending it. But now I have part one of my revenge on Ben, with the added benefit of getting rid of my worst enemy." She walked away, leaving me and Evie.

A thought occurred to me. "Wait, you're in love with Mal?" I asked Evie. Evie ran away. I stomped away in the opposite direction.
