I left the room last, and I saw Rappin' Zel talking to Amber outside. The blond boy dressed in yellow (not Ben) was sitting by a tree writing in a little yellow notebook. Sofia was elsewhere trying to get teachers to stop bullying her and her friends.

I continued my walk and saw Evie and Nina walking together. Nina's hair was about twenty percent cooler.

"Wow," I expressed.

Nina smiled, incorrectly assuming I was trying to compliment her.

"Thanks!" she said. "That means a lot to me coming from someone who's the daughter of someone who was obsessed with someone's hair."

She waved as she walked away with Evie.

Next I saw Doug. He was sadly walking away from the band room.

"What's wrong, Doug?" I asked, for his face looked so depressed that no one could possibly not ask him out of fear of missing amusement from his pain

"Carlos joined the class," he said. "Ben kicked him out of tennis for being so bad."

He sadly walked away. Chad radly walked in.

"I'm Cinderella's kid," he expressed. "I'm also a prince!"

He also looked sad, but when I didn't ask him for an explanation, he threw me against the wall and secretly held a dagger to my heart.

"What's wrong, Chad?" I asked.

He let me go and shrugged sadly then walked away.

Next Jay jumped in.

"I'm head man in tennis!" he expressed eagerly. "That means I have ultimate access to practice wii sports in the gaming class and Chad doesn't."

He bounced away.

The next day, when I went to the cafeteria, everyone had hair.

"What?????????????" I pondered.

I walked up to Evie, who had ten thousand people crowded around her. She was showing off makeup tricks to make your eyes look more awake so you could sleep in class without being caught.

"What is all this?" I demanded.

She flipped her hair. "I'm earning money, dummy. People in Auradon hate flaws, and they're paying me because I know how to fix them."

"You must have had a lot of practice, then," I said. "And besides, shouldn't we not be drawing attention to ourselves before Mal unlocks Auradon?"

"It's a backup plan," she said. "At least I'm doing something with my time here."

That really hurt my feelings. As a child, my mom was used to dealing with her problems by locking them in small spaces for extended periods of time. I'd gotten really good at crocheting with my hair.

I ran from the room, looking for a place to hide before she could see my tears.
