Chapter 44

They get Chloe and go dress shopping.

"Should we invite mo- Ella?" Chloe asks.

"People have called her Cinderella, but never Moella," Bridget says. She laughs. "What silly nicknames everyone comes up with. I hope this one isn't as mean. But no. Isn't it supposed to be bad luck to show your dress to the person you're going with?"

"Isn't that just for weddings?" Red asks.

"Well Castlecoming is like getting engaged to be engaged to be engaged," Bridget explains. "Doesn't everyone know that?"

"But you're not getting engaged," Chloe says. "Because my mo- I mean Ella is going to meet Prince Charming and then they're going to get married and have two kids and a hamster."

"Oh." Bridget blinks. "Then I guess we can invite her."

They send a quick pager to Ella, and she comes over.

"I can't believe your stepmom bought you a pager," Bridget says. "They only just came out."

"I know!" Ella says cheerfully. "But Anastasia didn't like the color of hers so she got another." She looks over at Red and Chloe. "Hey guys. Sorry about last time. I just had to finish my chores." She looks back at Bridget. "By the way, do you have any food?"

Bridget pulls out a bag of apple slices, and Ella happily munches on them.

"Alright are we ready to go?" Bridget asks. They walk to the store and they shop for a bit and after a few hours, they all find dresses that they like.

Red gets a dress that is slightly black but mostly red. Chloe got a dress that is pretty much Cinderella's movie dress except white like it's supposed to be, not blue. Bridget was deciding between a short short pink low cut dress and a fluffy pink ball gown with puff sleeves and glitter. She chose the latter. 

"I'll also be wearing pink," Ella says. "I'm going to fix up my mom's old dress. We'll match!"

Ella and Bridget smile, and they all pay for their dresses and leave.
