Chapter 1

•five years later•

(Katie's POV)

"Ugh, Hayes how many times do I have to tell you, the hamper is three feet away not a mile." I groan to myself in the empty condo, I pick up his dirty clothing and toss it in the hamper.

"Knockity knockity, your best friend for life is here." I hear Madison's voice come into the condo, I laugh and put my hair in a bun before walking into the living room where Madison is lounging.

"Can you knock first? I could've thought you were a robber and shot you." I nod, she laughs shaking her head and Cameron flings the door open with all of the kids behind him.

"Ugh, mom Cole annoyed me all day." Halley says rolling her eyes and stomping to her room, Mason rolls his eyes and flops down on the couch beside Madison.

"The babies annoyed her, not me." Mason says shaking his head and pulling out his iPod.

"We're not babies." Cole and Rylee say at the same time, Madison and I laugh and shake our heads as they both come to us.

"Yeah well you all annoyed me." Cameron says sitting on our other couch across from us.

"They're kids, they're always annoying." I says shaking my head, Madison and Cameron agree nodding their heads as all of them look at me.

"Besides me, you love me mom." Halley says kissing my cheek from behind me with her arms looped around my neck.

"No, I think all of you are annoying, no favoritism from me." I say shaking my head, Halley huffs and hops over the couch and next to me.

"Where's Hayes?" Cameron asks standing up and walking to our connected kitchen.

"He's at work." I nod as he pours himself a cup of lemonade.

"Dad, I want to learn how to drive." Mason says smiling and hopping up and down on his butt.

"You're eleven not fifteen, hell no." Cameron says walking back into the living room.

"Language." Me and Madison shout at him, he rolls his eyes and sits down on the couch.

"I miss Hayes." Halley frowns leaning her head on my shoulder.

If you're wondering she doesn't call anyone dad because she had such a messed up upbringing and I know it's all my fault, I was such a slut and I feel guilty every time I look at her.

"Mommy are you alright?" Cole asks me sitting on my lap, I smile and nod snapping out of my thoughts, the ones I have every day.

"Okay." He smiles leaning down onto my chest, there is a jiggle on the doorknob before Hayes steps in the front door.

"Yay Hayes is home!" Halley jumps up and runs over to him, he smiles and picks her up into a hug, she may not see him as a dad but they do have a special bond.

"Hey baby." Hayes whispers in my ear as he passes me, he kisses my cheek lightly and passes the couch most likely going to our bedroom.

"What's daddy doing?" Cole asks me looking behind me.

"He's changing like he usually does." I nod putting my arm around his waist and making him sit on my lap.

"Why is daddy always working?" He asks looking up at me again, I sigh and look up at Cameron, he frowns and mouths sorry, I shake my head and stand up making Cole get off of me, I walk back to our bedroom and knock on the door lightly, he says come in and I open the door seeing him laid on the bed with his tie loose and still in his suit, I smirk and walk over to him, I climb on him and straddle his waist, he opens his eyes and smiles shutting them when he sees me.

"Your brother is here with his and our children, Kay." He says sitting up making me sit on his lap with him in my face, I shrug and untie his tie as he shakes his head and kisses my neck lightly.

"Have a long day at work?" I ask noticing his attitude, he pulls away and nods.

"Let me relax that tension." I smile taking his suit jacket off, he smirks and flips us over once I'm done with his jacket and starts kissing me hard.

"How about we reverse that?" I say pushing him off of me and straddling his waist again.

"Oh my god, you're restless when your tired." I say falling back onto our bed panting, Hayes smirks falling next to me in the same state.

"Yeah well I'm going to sleep, you wore me out." He laughs turning over to look at me, I smile and he kisses me, I get out of bed and get dressed, I look in the mirror and adjust my hair, along with my clothes.

"Oh Hayes! Oh Hayes-s-s-s!" Madison moans once I walk in the kitchen, I slap her arm and get myself cup of water.

"I was not saying that by the way." I say putting my finger up at her, she laughs and shakes her head walking out of the kitchen.

"I like sucking on it, then crunching on it." Mason says once I walk out of the kitchen, my eyes go wide and he turns and I see him with a lollipop in his hand.

"Are you okay aunt Katie?" He asks me, Halley laughs and I snap my head at her.

"You aren't supposed to know that stuff yet." I say frowning, she shrugs and sits down on the couch.

"Mason isn't either, but he does because I think children deserve the right to know what everything and anything means." Cameron says and I shake my head.

"Kids under thirteen should not know what sex is." I say shaking my head and looking at Cameron bluntly, he shrugs and looks away from me, as I do to him.

"Hey, I heard from around the building that someone is moving in the first penthouse." Madison says looking up at me from her phone, Cameron and I look at each other and frown, we had talked about buying the penthouse and us all moving in together, but someone is obviously moving in so there goes that.

"He's really rich and has a ton of houses all over New York City." Madison says looking back down at her phone.

"Wow, way out of my class." I laugh shaking my head, Cameron and Madison agree nodding their heads.
