Chapter 11

(Hayes' POV)

"We can't do this anymore." I say shaking my head and looking up into her eyes, her eyes sadden and she looks away.

"I understand, you don't want to get caught right?" She asks me, I nod and she stands up along with me.

"I'm sorry." She says ushering me out of her house, I give her a confused look and she shrugs shutting her door, I sigh and get in my car.

(Katie's POV)

"Okay so you have no kids?" I ask Matthew, he shakes his head sipping his drink.

"Wow, and here I am with two." I say laughing, he smiles and shakes his head.

"Wrong man though." He says, I give him a look and he shrugs looking away.

"So have you been with any girls for five years?" I ask changing the subject, he makes a thinking face and nods.

"One, her name was Faith. She looked kind of like you and I was in love with her." He says trying to get it over with, I nod and look up at him.

"So I'm guessing it wasn't mutual?" I ask him, he chuckles and shakes his head.

"I proposed, she shot me down and left me for some Italian." He says with a shrug, I frown and place my hand on his.

"Yeah I know, people just can't stay." He says with a small smile and grabbing my hand, I take my hand away after a few and sit back.

"Halley is beautiful." He says looking at me, I smile and shake my head.

"She got it from Hayes." I say with a laugh and he laughs with me.

"Hayes isn't beautiful, my dear." He says leaning forward and placing his hand on my cheek, I smile and grab his hand taking it away as I see one of Hayes' friends come over.

"Katie, hey." She says smiling and glancing down at Matthew, I stand up and hug her after she puts down her bags.

"I'm Matthew." Matthew says standing up and putting his hand out, she smiles and shakes his hand.

"I'm Stephanie." She says nodding, he nods smiling, then looking to me.

"I should get going, but I'll see you later?" He says grabbing his suit coat and drink, I nod and he kisses my head as he hugs me, he waves walking away and I turn back to Stephanie.

"Is that who you're cheating with?" She jokes, I slap her arm and she laughs as we sit down.

"No seriously, what's up with the touchiness?" She asks me probably referring to the hand to face and kiss to head thing.

"We're close." I say with a shrug, she looks down nodding then back up smiling.

"I'm glad I saw you here, you know since it's almost Halley's birthday and all, I bought her a gift." She says reaching in her bags and digging out a little box, she opens it and a gorgeous, most likely expensive, diamond pair of earrings start shining.

"Steph, oh my god. They're beautiful." I say smiling, she nods and starts to talk about how she found them and where.

"How much were they?" I ask her, she shakes her head laughing.

"That's not important, I just wanted to get her something nice because I haven't seen her in a while." She says smiling with her lips, I smile and shake my head, Halley used to go over to Stephanie's all of the time, I would barely see her, but Steph moved a while away and she couldn't see her as much.

"She's turning twelve, not sixteen. I mean all power to you, but I don't want her growing up too fast." I say as she puts them back, she laughs and places her hand on my shoulder.

"She's not going anywhere, she's still your baby." She says smiling, I nod and we continue talking.

"Hayes!" I scream, he runs in here and I point to the corner.

"What? I don't see anything." He says looking around, I scream seeing it's leg.

"It's a spider, Hayes just kill it!" I squeal scaredly, he laughs picking it up by one of its legs.

"It's just a daddy long leg." He says pushing it towards me, I run back farther on the bed making him laugh even harder, he takes it to the window and throws it out.

"I'll be your daddy long leg." He says getting on the bed, I laugh and shake my head.

"You're not even that tall." I say laughing and climbing onto him straddling his waist.

"Mm, but I can still be your daddy." He says holding my hips, I shake my head and fall next to him wrapping one of my legs into his.

"I love you, you know that?" He asks me, I nod smiling and I look up at him.

"But I love you more." I say nodding, he looks like he's thinking then slowly nods.

"You're probably right." He says with a deep breath, I don't pay attention as I fall asleep on him.

I'm picking up laundry in Coles room and find some stuff that is probably unknown to mankind, I start on my room next and see a note sticking out of Hayes' coat pocket.

I know it would be wrong, but I'm curious as to what's on that note, I pick it up and open it anyway.

"Madl? What is a Madl? Nine o clock tonight." I read, what is Hayes doing at nine at night with a Madl?

"Babe?" I hear Hayes call from the bathroom, I stuff the note in my pants pocket and he walks in.

"Yeah?" I smile towards him, he gives me a look but shakes it off.

"What're we doing for Halley's birthday?" He asks me, I think about it and decide we should ask her.

"I don't know I can call her and ask tomorrow though because she's probably asleep and I'm tired." I say with a slight laugh, he nods and goes back in the bathroom brushing his teeth, I get comfy in bed and later Hayes comes out getting next to me, I sigh and hear him copy me.

"Hayes, what's a Madl?" I ask seeing if he will tell me.

"Aha. I have no clue." He says with a laugh, I nod and he was his arm around my hip and lays on my chest.

"Love you baby." He muffles into my shoulder, I kiss him and go to sleep.
