Chapter 22

(Cameron's POV)

"Uh hey man." Hayes says answering my call and I smile.

"How have you been bud?" I ask him, of course making conversation.

"To be truthful, not well, but I don't know, things are looking up." He says and I nod.

"Sounds good, hey but I called because I got a question." I say smiling.

"Yeah? What is it?" He asks me.

"Well, I was wondering if you can make it to California next week? Andrea and I are having a dinner and we are inviting everyone." I ask him and I hear him sigh.

"I don't know man, Katie will be there, her and Matthew, I don't think I can do that." He says and I frown, Andrea frowns looking up at me and I shake my head.

"Cmon, you know they aren't together, they're just friends who live together, plus you can take Cole home after, saves Elizabeth the trip?" I say trying to make a deal with him.

"Uh, let me think on it." He says and I pump my fist in the air.

"Alright cool, just need an answer by Friday." I tell him and he says okay and goodbye, we hang up and Andrea sits up on my lap.

"So I guess that's a yes?" She asks me with a smile and I nod, she smiles and I cup her face and kiss her.

"I'm so glad we're doing this, bringing everyone together again." She smiles and I nod playing with her hair.

"Okay Cole!" Katie snaps at him and he frowns stepping away from her.

"I miss daddy!" He cries and runs to the living room, I give Katie a look and she shrugs angrily.

"He annoys me all fucking day about Hayes, as if I want to think about him." She snaps and I give her a stank face.

"Don't snap at me, I ain't doing anything. Katie what's got you so pissed lately, one moment you're all silent and to yourself, then you're snapping at everyone you can see." I say and she groans.

"Just leave me alone." She whines standing up and I stand up with her and follow her as she walks out.

"Stop!" She says turning around and I give her another stank face making her laugh lightly.

"Stop I'm trying to be mad." She complains and I laugh.

"Not to good at it though." I say and she rolls her eyes.

"I really don't want to talk about it." She says and I nod, I put my arms out and she hugs me.

"Whatever it is, I'm here and you can tell me anything, unless you're like pregnant, then tell Andrea not me, so I don't beat the little fuckers face in." I says pounding my fist behind her back and she laughs pulling away from me.

"You're so weird." She says shaking her head and I nod.

"So I've been told." I shrug and she nods, Cole walks in with Andrea and frowns when he sees Katie.

"Baby, I'm sorry, I just don't want to talk about daddy right now." She apologizes holding her arms out, he nods and runs into them hugging her.

"Plus daddy will be here this week." I smile at Cole, Katie slowly turns her head at me and smiles back down at Cole.

"Honey why don't you go in there with Andrea? Uncle Cameron and I need to talk." She says and I smile at Cole when he looks at me.

They walk out and Katie stands up from her crouching position, she turns and cocks her eyebrow.

"What did you say?" She asks me stepping closer, I step back when she does and shake my head.

"Don't hurt me." I whine and she slaps my arm making me shriek.

"Why would you invite him?" She yells at me and I roll my eyes.

"Kay, take him back already." I groan and she laughs.

"No, I can't, and I won't." She says with a shrug and I roll my eyes again.

"I'm gonna go." She says and I grab her arm making her turn back around.

"No, do you really not want him there?" I ask her and she shakes her head.

"Well too bad." I shrug and let go of her, she huffs and goes into the living room to get Cole, she comes back out and stops.

"But don't expect me to be there." She says with a head nod toward me, I roll my eyes and she leaves.
