Chapter 13

(Katie's POV)

"Katie! Want some cereal?" Matthew shouts in my ear loudly waking me up, I slap him out of anger and he falls to the ground.

"Ow!" He screams making me laugh harder, I sit up and yawn uncovering myself.

"Yeah I do." I say nodding and smiling, he laughs and I step over him walking to the kitchen area.

"You're an ass." He says getting up as I start pouring my cereal, I smile stopping and flipping him off.

"Like before, you're an ass." He says nodding and walking behind me, I laugh continuing to pour my cereal.

"So, what're you going to do today?" He asks me standing behind my body, I shrug putting down the cereal and opening the milk and starting to pour it.

"I don't want to go back there, but I do." I say putting the milk down and then looking for a spoon in all of the drawers.

"Why do you want to go back?" He asks me, I sigh and find a spoon and turn around.

"Well, I of course hate him, but I love him, and my kids, I would love to see them, but I just need to get away from him, I feel like if I'm around him it's not teaching him that it's wrong to cheat." I say, Matthew nods and I shake my head laughing.

"Sorry for boring you." I say walking to my bowl and grabbing it and walking to the couch.

"No, you're perfectly fine. Nothing bores me anymore." He says sitting beside me and I smirk.

"Not even Ferris wheels?" I ask him jokingly, he smirks chuckling and looks down at his hands.

"Times are changing aren't they?" He says looking up and out to the amazing view out of his window.

"They already have." I say playing with the cereal with the spoon, he sighs and stands up walking to his window.

"I know its not what you need to hear right now, with all of this Hayes shit going on, but I miss you." He says looking down at me, I continue to play with my cereal and he looks away, I don't feel that way about Matthew, I can't. I am together with Hayes. Well, barely, but I have two kids with him, I can't just keep switching, but what Hayes did was wrong and I don't know if I could ever forgive him.

"Do you want the kids to come over here?" Matthew asks me snapping me from my thoughts, I think about it and shake my head.

"I don't want confusion, even though they already know he did what he did." I say shaking my head and starting to eat, he nods and looks away, I finish eating and stand up putting my bowl in the sink, I walk to the bathroom after telling Matthew I'm showering and grab my bag, I set out my bathroom supplies and put them up neatly, in the guest bathroom, I get in the shower and let all of my stress just fade, kind of. I get out and wrap my hair in a towel also one around my body. I pick out my outfit and dry myself fully before putting it on. It's a black and white flannel over a black tank top, dark denim skinny jeans, and my sperrys, I didn't pack much so I threw it together, I use my hair dryer to dry my hair and put it in a braided ponytail when I'm done, my phone begins to play Madison's set ringtone and I answer it.

"Hello?" I ask into the phone.

"Hey, the kids are here at my house in case you were wondering, Hayes said he had to get away, is on his way to the Bahamas or something." She says making me pissed.

"Wow, wish he would've stayed and I go." I say, I do feel so much tension right now I need a break from everything.

"So are you going somewhere too?" She asks me and I shake my head.

"No, because I can just go to the masseuse, get a massage I don't know." I say frustrated.

"Okay, well text me if you need something, call me if you want to come over, Cameron and I are going to take a nap when he gets back so I'll talk to you later." She says and I stop her.

"Wait, where is he?" I ask her and she hums.

"He should be over there, he told me he was coming over there real quick." She says and my eyes widen.

"Oh, yeah. He's here, I forgot, whoops, bye." I say panicky and hang up.

"What was that all about?" Matthew asks me standing in the doorway, I shake my head and walk past him.

"Okay, well I got to go to work, are you going to be here or?" He says trailing behind me and I stop turning to him.

"No, I have to go check up on the apartment because Hayes decided to take a unexpected vacation to the Bahamas." I say with a nod, he laughs and shakes his head.

"Idiot, well if you need it, spare is in the mailbox downstairs, just tell them Matthew sent you, see you later babe." He says walking to the door and winking at me before walking out, I know I'm blushing like crazy because I feel the heat rise to my cheeks, I grab my phone and wallet before leaving the apartment, I walk out locking the door and get in the elevator going up, I get to the floor and go to Cameron's apartment, I knock on the door and no one answers so I walk in.

"Oh, Cameron! Oh!" I hear from the back of the house making my eyes go wide, I spot Danielle asleep on the couch and my heart sinks when I see the girl from last week come out putting on her top.
