Chapter 21

(Katie's POV)

"Night baby." I smile closing Coles door, he smiles and I shut if fully.

"That cake was delicious babe." Matthew says wrapping his arms around me and I pull him off.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me stuff like that, and to stop acting like we're a thing." I say and he shrugs.

"We are a thing." He says wrapping his arms back around my waist and I sigh nodding.

"Yeah, but not officially and I don't want anyone to know that, okay?" I say and he nods, he leans down and kisses me, I pull away and walk to my room closing my room door, I check my phone and see Cameron texted me.

From Cam: hey, idk if Andrea told you already but we're having a dinner at our house in a week, you coming?

I shut off my phone and lay down in bed going to sleep.

"Mornin." Matthew says as I walk down the stairs as he comes in with the mail, I smile and he puts down the mail and walks to me as I get to the last step, he picks me up and spins me around, I laugh and he carries me into the kitchen and sits me down on the stool.

"I have to get Cole up in thirty minutes." I sigh looking at the clock and Matthew nods getting bacon out of the fridge.

"We need more eggs." He says and I nod resting my head on my elbow.

"Are you sleepy?" He asks me and I nod with my eyes shut.

"Well, go lay down on the couch and I'll get Cole up, feed him and take him to school, you don't have to do anything." He says with a smile and a smile creeps onto my face.

"You're the best." I smile and get up, I kiss his cheek and walk out to the couch.

"Yeah, you have to be quiet she is sleeping!" I hear Cameron whisper and see Nash peek over the couch and look at me.

"Rah!" I scream jumping up making Nash jump back and scream into Cameron.

"What're you two fools doing in my house?" I ask laughing and Cameron shoves Nash off of him.

"Well we were trying to be quiet, but ya know, I brought Nash." He says and Nash slaps him on the arm.

"You're the loud ass who starting eating their food." He says and I glare at Cameron.

"It was just a couple of enchiladas." He says and I smile rolling my eyes after he makes a stupid face.

"But why were you in my house?" I ask them folding my arms across my chest and Nash looks at Cameron who laughs nervously.

"Um. Bye." He says and runs out leaving Nash.

"Really bro? Sorry love you Katie." He says and runs out after him and I laugh shaking my head.

"Why were Cameron and Nash running down the street?" Matthew asks me coming in and I smile standing up.

"They were in the house, why? I have no clue." I say with a shrug and he chuckles.

"Well, I also went grocery shopping so yeah." He says and I smile thanking him, I walk upstairs and grab my phone.

From Madison: uh hey. I was just wondering if Cameron invited you to dinner next week to?

To Madison: uh yeah, him and Andrea..

I finish typing and she reads it but doesn't respond, I shut off my phone and throw it on my bed and walk out.

"I'm so bored!" I shout walking down the stairs and Matthew stands at the end.

"Well we could go out, I mean we are alone." He says with a shrug and I nod.

"Sounds great. I'll go change and we'll go." I say and he nods, I walk back upstairs and into my room, I go into my closet and bring out a pair of black and white athletic shorts and a white t-shirt, I replace my old clothes with them and grab my black and white vans, I know I sound emo but whatever, I walk downstairs and Matthew grabs the keys and we walk out, he takes my hand after locking the door and we walk to the car.

"You're crazy for wearing shorts." He snorts as we both shut our doors and he begins to crank up the car, I shrug and shake my head.

"It's not that cold today." I say and he nods pulling out of the driveway.

"Let's go to Wendy's." I say and he nods pulling into the merging lane.

"I thought you were on a diet." He says and I shake my head, we pull into a parking spot and get out.

(Matthews POV)

We enter the building and Katie grabs my hand from behind me, I turn and she points to the bathroom, but I see nothing.

"What?" I ask her and look down at her and see he jaw is dropped.

"Kay what?" I ask her facing her to me and she closes her mouth.

"I thought I saw something." She says and I cock my eyebrow.

"Like what?" I ask her and she shakes her head, the person at the counter calls for the next person and we walk up there.

"What do you want?" I ask her looking down at her and she shakes her head.

"Nothing." She says not looking at me and I look at the lady.

"Two number sevens please." I tell her, she takes our order and we walk to a table to wait.

"What's up with you babe? What'd you see?" I ask her sitting next to her in the booth and putting my arm around her, she looks up at me and smiles.

"Nothin." She says and I can't help but smile, I kiss her and she smiles pulling away.
