(Katie's POV)

"Dean?" I whisper seeing him running down the hall towards me, as he gets closer to me someone tackles him out of the elevator, I fall to the ground sobbing and the guy comes over, I look up and see Hayes, he grabs me and lifts me up bringing me into a kiss, when I pull away the guy is standing in front of me.

"Oh my god."

I wake up crying and Hayes immediately jumps up, he wraps his arms around me and I look up to make sure it's actually him.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He asks with a worried tone, I shake my head and lean into his chest, he kisses my forehead and rubs my back and arms over and over.

"I'm here, you're okay." He says cradling me and wiping my tears, I sniffle into his neck and he kisses my forehead.

"Baby, what happened?" He asks once again and I stand up walking into the bathroom, his footsteps follow me and I get a angry feeling.

"Get out! I just want to be alone." I scream slamming the door shut in his face, I hear him slowly sigh and walk out of the room making me fall to the ground sobbing, I'm being a jerk for no reason and I don't like this feeling like this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, like something bad is coming.

"Mommy?" I hear as a gentle knock on the door sounds out, I sigh and stand up wiping the tears away and opening the door seeing Cole staring up at me.

"Are you okay baby?" I ask him as I see a tear slip down his bruised cheek making me gasp.

"What happened?" I ask him as I examine the bruise, he looks down at his feet and another tear escapes.

"Daddy hit me, but mommy it was an accident I swear." He says looking up crying, my mouth falls open and I sit him on the bed telling him to stay in here, I walk out and into the living room seeing no one, the front door is open wide and I hear Hayes faintly groaning, I walk out and see Hayes curled up into a ball at the end of the hallway making me scream, I run to him and fall down next to him, he closes and opens his eyes repeatedly in pain, one of the elevators ding as I look for a phone and someone steps out.

"Can you help me please!?" I shout as they start walking towards the other way, they turn and my eyes widen making my heart skip a beat I see the familiar hair come to life, the perfect jawline jogs my memory and I realize that it's...

"Matthew?"

"Coffee?" He asks me as my mind drifts off into the New York City sky, I snap my head and see Matthew standing there with two coffee cups in his hand, I nod and he sits beside me after I take it, we sit in silence sipping the coffee and looking everywhere but to each other, he looks at me and I look at him but he looks away making me smile a little, he looks at me and I look away before he catches me.

"Are you okay?" He asks with a light smile on his face, I look at him and nod slightly taking in all of the new features on his face.

"You look different, something changed." I say shaking my head, he sighs looking away and I turn my head as well.

"I don't even know you I can't tell you all of my secrets." He says with a smirk looking back at me, I look back at him and shake my head.

"No, I'm still the same girl you knew, just a different state." I say shaking my head, he chuckles facing forward and shakes his head.

"No, something's different with you too, not just me." He says sipping his coffee, I sigh facing forward and looking back at him.

"So you're not really going to tell me?" I ask pouting, he smiles and looks down at his lap.

"Maybe some other time, like over drinks?" He asks, I go to say something but I feel a tap on my shoulder, I turn seeing Hayes' nurse and I stand up.

"He's fine, he just a had a few bruises and bumps, now we're waiting for his medication, you may follow me if you want to see him." She says with a faint smile on her face, I nod and Matthew stands up following us, she pushes the door open slowly and Hayes' snores pour out of the room, making me chuckle a little while sitting at his side.

"We gave him a short sedation, he'll be up in a minute." She says with a nod and leaves the room, I look from the door to Matthew than to Hayes.

"He's going to be surprised when he sees you." I laugh looking up at Matthew, he smiles faintly and I smile looking back at Hayes, his eyelashes flutter back and forth until his eyes open fully.

"I was hoping that I was dreaming, but shit." He says with a small laugh, his eyes close than slowly drift to Matthew making them go wide.

"Woah, what the fuck." He says with the most confused face ever, I laugh and he looks back at me.

"Why are you laughing this is not funny." Hayes asks with a serious tone making me laugh harder, he rolls his eyes and I calm down.

"Matthew actually saved your life, surprise!" I say wiggling my hands towards him, he waves once Hayes finally looks at him.

"Wait why are you in New York?" He asks him, making Matthew chuckle.

"I live here, have been for a couple of years now." He says nodding and playing with his car keys on the wood of the chair.

"You're just lucky I moved into the penthouse a couple of weeks ago." He says with a chuckle, I nod and look at Hayes who is looking at me already.

"The kids don't need to know about this." I say laughing, Madison came over to watch the kids without saying a word to them about it.

"Alright, well I'll get going." Matthew says standing up making me jump up.

"No, we owe you a huge favor, don't just get up and go." I say shaking my head.

"It's fine really, and I'm sure we'll all see each other around the building." He says with a light laugh, I nod and look to Hayes who is laying his head back.

"I guess I'll see you later." I say smiling up at him, he nods and we both lean in for a hug, his breath runs down my back making me pull away.

"Bye." I smile waving as he walks out of the door, he waves back and I sit down at Hayes' side.
