"I'm ready to marry Bella."
As soon as the words left my mouth, Jimin choked on his coffee, spraying it out in shock before breaking into a coughing fit.
Dad and I immediately looked at him.
"Are you alright, Jimin?" Dad asked, patting his back with concern.
Jimin coughed a few more times before finally catching his breath. He turned to me with wide eyes. "Did I hear something wrong?"
I gave him a knowing smile but said nothing. Then I glanced at Dad.
His eyes were fixed on me, searching for confirmation. "Jungkook… are you serious?" Dad asked.
I nodded.
A light lit up his face as a proud smile stretched across his lips. "Jungkook, you don't know how happy you've made me. You're my pride, son."
Jimin, still recovering, looked between the two of us, clearly trying to piece things together. His expression was full of confusion, his eyes blinking.
Dad continued, voice filled with certainty, "You'll never find anyone better than Bella. I promise you, you won't regret this decision."
I smiled again but stayed silent, letting the weight of my decision settle in the room.
Jimin was still staring at me, completely frozen, his coffee cup hovering mid-air. I couldn't help but chuckle at his expression.
Then I looked at Dad, gave his hand a gentle pat, and stood up. "I'm heading to the office. See you both later."
Without waiting for another reaction, I left, calm, content, and strangely lighter.
Jimin looked at his dad. "Dad is that a dream am I watching?? because in reality this is an impossible thing..."
Dad laughed softly. "This isn't a dream, son. But it was your mother's dream to see Bella and Jungkook together."
Jimin blinked in confusion. "Means?"
Dad smiled gently. "When Bella was born, your mom and Bella's mother made a pact… they dreamed of marrying their kids to each other once they grew up."
Jimin's brows furrowed. "But Jungkook.. How did he agree to this? I mean.. he never seemed interested in Bella. He didn't even like her that way."
Dad nodded slowly. "Yesterday, he got upset after hearing the idea. But today… after learning it was his mother's wish, he agreed. Maybe that changed something in his heart."
Jimin fell silent for a moment, lost in thought. Then he said quietly, "And Bella? Did anyone ask her?"
"Kim said he'll talk to her soon." Dad replied.
Jimin's expression grew serious. "As far as I know, Bella is not going to agree. Dad....told uncle Kim not to force her.. Bella is so precious to me and I don't want anyone to force her to do anything against her happiness."
Dad placed a reassuring hand over Jimin's. "She's precious to me too, Jimin. That's why I asked Kim to only bring the idea to her. If she agrees, only then will we move forward. Her happiness is just as important."
Jimin nodded thoughtfully. "You never told us about this before."
"I was waiting for the right time," Dad replied. "Bella was still studying. Now that she's finished, Kim brought it up again."
Jimin sat quietly, letting everything sink in.
Then Dad added, "Don't bring this up with Bella for now. Let Kim talk to her first."
