"So who's the winner now my sweetheart?"
His words curled in the air like smoke—taunting, smug, impossible to ignore.
I gritted my teeth, my jaw tightening. That sweetheart stung more than any punch.
Still locked in his gaze, I muttered under my breath, "Leave me."
He raised an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his eyes.
"Leave me, Jeon!" I snapped, louder this time.
That damn smirk curved his lips—and in the next second, he let go.
Thud.
I hit the floor. Hard.
"Ah—" I hissed, pain shooting through my elbow and spine as I glared up at him, fury swelling in my chest.
But Jungkook didn't flinch. He calmly walked back to the table, picked up his water bottle, and strolled over to me. Without a word, he offered it, nodding slightly as if to say drink. His eyes—annoyingly unreadable—just stared.
I slapped his hand away.
The bottle nearly slipped from his fingers, but he caught it with ease—still quiet, still maddeningly unbothered.
I pushed myself to my feet, ignoring the ache in my back and the louder sting in my pride. Without another glance, I turned on my heel and stormed out of the room. My footsteps echoed like the last word in an argument I didn't want to have.
As the door swung shut behind me with a slam, he chuckled in a low.
Leaning back against the wall, he muttered to himself, "Sigma women."
Then he shook his head, that crooked, devil-may-care smile still plastered on his face.
On the other hand…
Jimin had been showing Eva around the city. After visiting a few charming spots, they ended up at the Han River. The soft breeze whispered through the air, ripples glimmering under the golden hue of the setting sun.
They stood quietly at the edge of the riverbank, the world slowing around them.
Jimin broke the silence, his voice gentle and low. "This is my favorite place. It's special… Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I come here. Sitting by the water, feeling the wind—it helps me breathe again."
Eva smiled, her eyes drifting to his side profile as he stared out across the water.
"It's so beautiful." she whispered, letting the moment soak in.
Jimin's expression softened, but his voice held something bittersweet. "I found this place after Bella left for the UK. Before that… I never felt alone. She was always around—when I was sad, when I felt like I couldn't breathe—she was there. But after she left, it felt like everything stopped. I couldn't adjust for a while… My little pretty princess."
He smiled faintly. "She's so precious to me. My precious sister."
Eva's heart warmed. "Bella is so lucky to have a friend like you."
Jimin turned to look at her, a small glint of mischief in his eyes. "Wanna be one of those lucky people?"
Eva chuckled, arching an eyebrow. "Well, I already have Bella. So technically, I'm lucky too."
He feigned a dramatic pout. "So… you're rejecting my friendship?"
Eva crossed her arms, "If you think I AM rejecting then what I'm doing here with you, huh... I should go then." She turned as if to walk away.
But before she could take a full step, Jimin reached out gently and caught her wrist. She gasped, startled, and suddenly found herself pulled toward him. The air thickened as they stood inches apart. Eva's breath hitched. His hand was still around her wrist, Jimin's gaze locked onto hers—intense, searching.
