"I have decided, Kim.. now I want my son in my house.. that's it!!"

On the other hand, Bella's POV

I couldn't sleep.

Gently, I slipped out from under the covers, careful not to wake Eva. I stepped out silently, closing the door behind me. As I walked down the hallway, I took a deep breath, whispering to myself,

"I need to talk to Appa. I can't marry Jungkook just because of this stupid challenge. This isn't right."

I made my way to Appa's room, my heart pounding.

I raised my hand to knock—but then I froze.

Voices drifted through the door. Appa and my stepmother were talking…

"And marry Bella as soon as you can... I can't bear her anymore!"

"I can't afford to miss this proposal. I already told her she has no choice. If she says no, I have my own ways to make her agree!"

"Then go and talk to Jeon again. Tell him you want the marriage to happen as soon as possible."

"I've already told him. I made it clear—I want this wedding done quickly."

"Then hurry up! I don't want to wait any longer."

"Don't worry Bella can't say no otherwise I need to be harsh on her."

I felt like the floor slipped from under me.

My legs trembled, and I stumbled back, steadying myself against the wall. Tears welled up in my eyes—hot, heavy, painful. Every word they spoke pierced through my heart like a blade.

Appa… this is how you really feel?

I clenched my jaw, trying to keep my sobs from escaping. Not here. Not now.

I turned and ran down the hall, past the quiet rooms, out into the cool night air.

In the backyard, I finally broke down. I sank to the ground, curling my knees to my chest. My tears poured freely as I whispered,

"Appa… I thought you cared about me. But the voice I just heard… the words you said… they shattered me."

I cried until my chest hurt. Until my tears ran dry.

Then I wiped my face, took a few shaky breaths, and slowly stood up.

I walked back to my room. My steps were heavier now—but my heart even heavier.

Next morning.

Eva and I woke up and went downstairs to have breakfast with Appa and my stepmother. Since it was Sunday, both of them were home.

As we approached the dining table, we saw Appa already seated, quietly eating his breakfast. I greeted him softly, my eyes lowered—his words from last night still echoed painfully in my mind.
Appa looked up and greeted us both in return. Eva had already met him last night, so she smiled politely.

We took our seats.

Just then, my stepmother walked into the dining room, but she stopped abruptly when she saw us. She sighed loudly, clearly annoyed, and without saying a word, turned around and walked back to her room. Appa noticed her reaction but stayed quiet. Eva caught the whole moment too.

"She must not be hungry. You two carry on." Appa said simply.

Eva gave me a look, but I blinked at her and subtly nodded, assuring her that everything was fine. We quietly finished our breakfast and then went back to our room.
