"Jungkook.."
Bella's voice was barely a whisper. Eunwoo followed the direction of her gaze, turning his head slightly. And then he saw him.
Jungkook.
Standing a few feet away, drenched in the rain, unmoving — his eyes fixed solely on Bella.
Time slowed.
Bella and Jungkook held each other's gaze, both silent, both unreadable. The rain continued to fall, soaking through Jungkook's hoodie, yet he didn't move. His eyes never left her.
Bella's breath grew shallow. Her chest rose and fell with an unsteady rhythm as she watched Jungkook take a step forward. Then another.
He walked toward them, but his eyes never blinked.
Eunwoo remained still, standing beside Bella with the umbrella held protectively over her, shielding her from the rain.
Jungkook finally reached them. He stood just inches from Bella now. Water dripped down his face, but he didn't care. His gaze was intense, unwavering.
Then, without a word, he reached out his hand. Slowly, gently, he took her hand in his — his fingers sliding between hers, locking them together like pieces of a broken puzzle reuniting. The moment their skin touched, Bella closed her eyes as a tear escaped, tracing a soft path down her cheek.
Then, he turned slightly, his sharp gaze flickering toward Eunwoo — a glance that burned with unspoken fury and silent ownership. And then, without waiting for permission or explanation, Jungkook pulled Bella with him, still holding her hand. And she followed, without saying anything.
Not a single word passed between them as they walked away through the graveyard. Her fingers still entwined with his. Her eyes cast down. The rain falling like a curtain around them, swallowing them whole.
Eunwoo remained behind, standing still under the umbrella — his knuckles white around the handle, but his expression... broken.
He stared at their silhouettes, his heart twisting. Slowly, he closed his eyes. A tear slipped free. "I wish I could give you a warm hug and vanish your pain, Rose..." he whispered to the emptiness.
The umbrella shifted as he reached up to wipe his tears.
And then, with silent footsteps, Eunwoo turned and walked away.
On the other side of the graveyard, Jungkook was still holding Bella's hand, his grip firm, protective, almost desperate. Rain now poured harder, drenching them entirely, but neither cared. Their soaked clothes clung to their bodies, cold biting into their skin.
They reached his car. Without a word, Jungkook let go of her hand just long enough to open the passenger door. His gaze met hers for a brief second. Bella took a deep breath, then quietly slid into the passenger seat, her eyes empty, her expression unreadable.
Jungkook circled the car, slipped into the driver's seat, and closed the door with a dull thud. He leaned his head back against the seat, his jaw clenched, chest heaving slightly.
The image of Eunwoo standing with the umbrella over Bella haunted him, looping in his mind like poison.
He turned his face to look at her. Bella sat still, her gaze fixed on the rain sliding down the window, her shoulders slightly hunched. She looked so small in that moment. So lost.
Then he noticed her. Her fingers were trembling. She was shivering, silent and soaked. The chill in the air suddenly struck him hard — how long had she been standing there in the rain?
Jungkook immediately reached out and turned on the heater. Warm air started to rise through the vents, but Bella didn't even flinch. She was frozen in a trance of her own.
