"This was the bestest day of my life."
Jimin said with a soft smile before heading towards his car.
Jimin and Bella returned to the hotel. As Bella stepped inside the room, her eyes immediately went to the bed where Jungkook was fast asleep.
She quietly walked over and gently checked his forehead. A sigh of relief escaped her lips — his fever had finally gone down. She tilted her head slightly, and whispered to herself, "I shouldn't have left him alone."
With a soft sigh, she tucked the blanket over him carefully, then sat on the floor beside the bed. Resting her elbows on the mattress and cupping her face in her hands, she watched his sleeping face. Before she knew it, her eyes closed, and she drifted off to sleep in that very position.
As dawn broke, the first light of the sun filtered into the room through the uncovered window. The warm rays touched Jungkook's face, causing him to squint. Slowly, he opened his eyes — only to find Bella sleeping on the floor beside him, her head resting near his arm.
His heart skipped a beat. He immediately sat up, alarmed, and gently cupped her cheeks. His eyes widened in concern — she was burning with fever. He lightly patted her face and called her name,
"Heaven..."
Bella slowly opened her eyes, stirring at the sound of his voice, and looked up at him. "Jungkook... are you alright?" she asked sleepily.
Jungkook moved down to the floor beside her, his voice filled with worry. "Heaven… why were you sleeping here?"
Sitting up, she sneezed softly and said,
"I'm sorry, Kook... I left you alone last night even though I knew you weren't well."
His heart twisted at her words. He scooted closer and said, "I told you I was fine... but why were you sleeping out here in the cold? You're burning with fever, Heaven."
She gave a faint smile and replied, "I left you alone on a cold night... that's why I caught a cold too."
She sneezed again, prompting Jungkook to frown with concern. "Stop saying such nonsense, Heaven."
His heart pounding, he swiftly lifted her into his arms and gently laid her down on the bed. Bella closed her eyes, exhausted, while Jungkook pressed his hand to her forehead. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed his phone and made a call.
"Bring the doctor to my room. Hurry!" he ordered, then ended the call and set the phone aside.
He remained beside her, watching her shallow breaths and furrowed brows with growing anxiety. Soon, a knock echoed through the room. Jungkook opened the door — it was the doctor.
After examining her, the doctor said,
"She has a seasonal fever — likely caught a cold from the night air. She'll be fine. Here's the medicine. Make sure she eats something before taking it."
Jungkook nodded, thanked the doctor, and then called the hotel staff to bring soup to the room. Within minutes, the soup arrived.
He sat beside Bella on the bed and gently patted her cheek. "Heaven… you need to eat so you can take your medicine."
She slowly opened her eyes and looked at him. With his help, she sat up, and he brought a spoonful of soup to her lips.
"Drink it."
Obediently, she sipped from the spoon. Jungkook patiently fed her the entire bowl and then handed her the medicine. After taking it, she lay back down. Jungkook tucked the blanket around her carefully. "Sleep now... you'll be fine," he said softly.
Bella offered a faint smile and nodded. Then, without letting go, she reached out and held his hand in hers, closing her eyes again.
Jungkook's heart pounded faster. Watching her sleep so vulnerably stirred something deep within him. He gently brushed her hair away from her face, staring silently.
