taylor's pov:
me and travis have been official dating for a little while now, but other than us 2, nobody really knows much about us. we aren't necessarily in a secret relationship, just a more private one. it's nice to have some normalcy in life, considering every single move i make is discussed and picked apart by the world.

today i had plans to meet up with my family for lunch at my dads house. it wasn't a special occasion or anything, but i decided to casually bring it up, it wasn't that too big of a deal.

——
"g'morning baby" travis says once i walk down the stairs. he's cooking some breakfast, eggs and blueberry pancakes, my favorite. "hi trav, what time is your practice at again?" i asked, taking a seat at the table.

"9:45, you're going to lunch at 11, correct?." he asks, flipping over a pancake. "yup, oh, you don't mind if i tell them about you, right?" i asked, just in case he wanted to stay a secret.

"i don't mind, just don't mention the cheif part to your dad" he laughed, knowing my dad has been an eagles fan for quite a long time. "alright, i've gotta get going now babygirl. i'll see you around 5, right?" he asked, i nodded.

"bye trav! love you!" i said, as he left the house and shut the wooden door. i quickly ate breakfast, realizing i didn't have a ton of time to get ready for lunch.

after i ate, i threw on a pair of black denim shorts with a slightly cropped floral print top, along with some nice sandals and a pair of sunglasses since its been super sunny lately.

i decided to leave my curls natural today, i've been trying to use less head on my hair this summer. i throw on a bit of mascara and concealer over any pimples and obviously my classic red lipstick.

after i finished everything, i headed over to my dads house.

——

"hi honey!" i hear my mom say the second i open the door, her arms open and ready for a hug. "hi mom! i missed you." i say giving her a long hug. "hi dad! hey austin!" i say, smiling at both of them.

"everyone is alright with chicken, salad and mashed potatoes for dinner?" my mom asked, already knowing the answer. everyone nodded and began to sit down at the dining room table.

"so how's life been?" my mom asks. "you know, just the usual, music, tours, and maybe a little more." i smile. "oh, are you seeing someone now?" my dad chimes in, i nod. "so, who's the lucky guy or girl?" he asked.

"well, his name is travis." i say, my dad nodding. "he's a football player, he plays for the nfl." i say.
"which team?" he immediately asked. "the chiefs." i say. "oh, that's.. nice." he says.

"his brother plays for the eagles, right? i heard something about that last year." austin said. "yeah, but just don't make a big deal about. we haven't really told many people yet." i added, they nodded.

the rest of the lunch went down with other small talk. i'm glad they didn't take it too seriously like the did with any of my previous relationships, but i know they're just looking out for
