taylor pov:
today i get to work on a new piece with an artist i've never gotten to work with before, ben. (not any one specific named ben, just pretend it's some random artist lmao) i've hardly even interacted with him over the phone or anything, so we're basically strangers.

but i listened to a good chuck of his discography  and i feel like our styles of music would go really well together, so why not try working on a piece together, what could go wrong?

i arrive at the studio and he welcomes me and introduces himself a little bit. i didn't know a ton about him, considering he wasn't a huge artist, but he seemed like a cool guy, i was exited to work on the song.

after we sort of got to know each other, we spent a while figuring out all the lyrics and put together a lot of the song. i think it's coming together very nicely.

after a while passes, we decided be done for the day. we both had pretty big schedules and needed some rest. we just planned to work on it some more tomorrow.

"bye taylor! it was really nice to work with you today!" he said as he left, i smiled back.

-the next day-

travis's pov:
i had zero plans today, so i offered to come with taylor at the recording studio, since she was only working with ben for a little while.

we park the car on the side of the road, and i hold the door open as i smile at ben who was waiting for her. i notice he's on the phone with someone, im assuming one of his friends, so i didn't want to bother him.

"i'm gonna use the bathroom real quick. i'll be back in five." taylor announces, walking down the hall.

since ben was talking on the phone, i pulled my phone out of my pocket to mindlessly scroll through my social media, until i heard ben start talking about taylor.

"yeah, i don't know, she's super overrated, but at least she'll get me some more fans" he laughed. "and she can't even sing well!" he said, as if i wasn't even there.

was he that stupid? he's working with the most famous singer in the world right now, and just casually admitting he thinks she sucks in front of her boyfriend.

i decided to ignore it for now, i didn't want to start a fight with him this very second. i would just plan to explain it all to taylor later that night, i didn't want to ruin her plans.

i hear taylor's footsteps coming back from the bathroom. "hey im back." she says, setting her purse down on the table. "hey babygirl." i say, giving her a little kiss on the cheek, waiting for ben to hang up with his friend.

a few seconds after taylor arrived back he did hang up luckily, so i just let both of them do their thing as i sat on the couch and listened.

i do have to admit, ben seemed quite good at singing and writing lyrics, but if he's not a good person, i doubt taylor will still want to be on a song with him.

-time skip to when travis & taylor are back home-

"hey babygirl" i say as she crawls into bed, laying right beside me. "can i tell you something?" i ask, she looks up, waiting for my next words.

"baby, i don't think it's a good idea to work with ben." i breath. "when you went to the bathroom, i overheard his phone call, he was talking about you."

"what? but.. he.. what did he say?" he mumbles, already so worried. "basically he is just using to gain popularity" i breathe. "i don't think it's a good idea to continue writing with him."

"oh. i.. um, i'll text him and let him know that we aren't doing it anymore." she mumbles. i could tell she was on the verge of tears, i felt awful that someone else's opinion could have such an impact on her mind.

"oh baby.. you don't need to cry." i say, wrapping her in my warm embrace. "it's his loss, you are so loved by so many people, yeah? all of your fans, your family, your friends." i smile giving her a kiss.

"yeah, i guess so." she shrugs. "i love you babygirl. you know that right?" i ask, she nods and smiles. "me too." she says, giving me a tight hug
