travis's pov:
i wake abruptly in the night to a loud crashing sound outside our house. i quickly glance at taylor, who was luckily still peacefully asleep, ever since she had been pregnant with the twins she's slept a ton.

a look out the window and see a small group of people, maybe 3 or 4 kids who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties. at the moment, they weren't causing too much harm, but i'm afraid it could quickly escalate, so i decided to call the police, plus it's 4am, kids shouldn't just be wandering the streets the like that.

i dialed 911 and walking into the other room so taylor wouldn't be alarmed. if she was awake, she would immediately go to the worse case scenario.

"hello this is 911, what's your emergency?" the operator asked. "hi, um there are a group of teens outside my house, i don't know what they're up too, but im afraid they're going to do something" i explain, peeking out the window, noticing the kids weren't their anymore.

"okay. we will send the police over, try and stay calm, okay? is anyone else in the house with you?" the lady asked. "it's just me and my wife." i responded, slowly getting more anxious about the whole situation.

"okay. my name is emma, im going to stay on the phone with you until the police arrive, okay?" she asks, i nodded. i was at the top of the stairs and then i heard the front door open, shit.

"i think.. i think they got into the house" i mumble quietly, scampering back to the bedroom, going to wake taylor. "okay. the police will be there in less than a minute, just try your best to stay hidden, and defend yourself if you feel the need to." she says.

"tay, honey, wake up." i say, shaking her awake. "huh? what's wrong?" she says, her face already looking panicked. "just a sec" i say, picking her up, and running to the bathroom. it was the farthest place in the house from the entrance, and the lock worked.

"stay here, and please be quiet, okay? i promise it'll all be okay, im sorry i can't tell you more, just stay here." i demanded, leaving her alone in the locked bathroom. i felt awful for not explaining the whole situation to her, but if i did she would be to worried function.

i tip toe out of the bathroom, trying to see if the group had weapons, or trying to steal something.
"travis, the police are arriving now" i hear emma say, i let out a breath of relief, and then i tripped over a pile of clothing on the floor.

shit. i twisted my ankle, it wasn't awfully painful, but i was scared i made it obvious to the group i was here, and i didn't need taylor to be worried about it. "fuck, ouch." i murmured to myself, trying to get back on my feet.

the police where luckily already in the house, i felt so much more protected and at peace. emma instructed me and taylor to stay upstairs, away from the police, so they could properly do their job.

i couldn't hear much from the top of the stairs, but it sounded like they where trying to steal something with a lot of value.

once i got the update from emma that it was 100% safe to roam our house, i went to the bathroom to get taylor.

i walked in, and she was trying her best to not cry, although a few teardrops were beginning to fall.
"babygirl, it's okay now." i say, picking her back up.

"what the fuck even happened?" she yelled angrily, "a lot did. do you want me to tell you now? i don't want you to be scared babygirl" i ask, setting her down in bed once she nodded.

"first, i want to let you know that we are both safe right now, and we will be" i breath, not wanting her to get worried.

"a group of teens broke in to our house, and tried to steal stuff. i got on the phone with the police, and we were luckily able to prevent any damage from happening" i explain.

"and you didn't think to even tell me that until it was over?" she yelled. "i would've, but i didn't need you to be flustered about this. my goal was to keep you and the babies safe." i smile, patting her large 34 week pregnant bump.

"so you're telling me there were fucking criminals in our house 10 minutes ago?" she said, i slowly nodded. "did you not lock the door? how the hell did they get it?" she yells, throwing her hands in the air.

"i don't know baby, but the important thing is that everyone is safe. the police said they will do some more investigating and let us know what happened, alright?" i reply, pulling her in closely  for a much needed hug.

"it's still 5am, we should go back to sleep, but i promise everything will be fine." i assure her, tucking in the blankets. "goodnight, i love you." she smiles, peeking her face out between the covers.

"i love you too" i reply, snuggling up close with her.
