Shahmeer's POV
"I look forward to meeting you again Sir." It was one of the big investors in the city but, he wasn't the only one. I'd gotten two more calls today from two other great investors.
"Same here."
"Have a great day, bye."
"You aswell, bye." I ended the meeting and shut down my desktop. I checked my watch and I was bang on time. I checked my phone for important messages or emails but it was only Farjaad sending me these stupid memes, so I slid my phone back in my pocket. I looked on my left to see what Mahnoor was doing and to my surprise (not), she was fast asleep.
I walked over and kneeled down beside her. She looked amazing no matter what she was doing. It wasn't love. Love isn't real. It just makes you weak. I had no time for it. Although, I had to admit, I was simply attracted to her. She was beautiful. Any man that lays his eyes on her in the wrong way, will become my enemy. Strands of her hair fell, covering her face so I gently tucked them behind her ear. Her eyes slowly started to open and I quickly got up, before she realised what I was doing.
"I just came to wake you up. I'm done with my meetings. We can go."
"Hm, okay." Her eyes were heavy and she spoke with a lethargic voice.
"Tired?"
"You could say so."
"Come on then." She got up and grabbed her bag and slid her heels back on. She settled down her hair which was all over the place by combing through it with her hands. I walked to the door and opened the door.
"After you."
"Thank you." As she walked through the door, I could smell her perfume everywhere. My whole office was filled with the scent but I wasn't mad about it.
I was thinking about what Farjaad said to me about when I first met Mahnoor. I pulled out her chair and walked behind her. Normally, people pull out my chair for me and walk behind me.
Maybe he was right after all. I'd never found a woman so attractive before. Only attractive, nothing more. Nothing less.
__________
We arrived at the wedding hall and I parked my car in my reserved owner spot. The guards had seen me and opened the door for us.
"There will be bodyguards in front of the bridal room." The guards nodded quickly. I made that decision yesterday after what had happened.
"Oh...thank you." I heard her voice from beside me.
"It's not for you. It's for my customer's safety."
"Right, of course."
I dropped her off at the bridal room where the makeup artists and hair stylists were and left to make sure all the preparations were to my expectation. This was a wedding everyone hadn't thought would happen. Me - marrying someone. It didn't sound right but, it was happening. It had to be grand. Lavish. Full of love. Fake love.
_________
"Everything must be perfect."
"Don't worry Sir, we have guards in front of every gate and every window. Food will be served on time aswell as dessert."
"Hm, good. Make sure there's vanilla ice cream for dessert."
