Shahmeer's POV

"Profit has been going down but we must bring it back up." I say in a concerned tone.

"Sir, we have already lost two of our biggest investors. To bring the company's profit we either make more hotels or find new investors."

"We can't spend time making more hotels. We have a good amount of hotels, we just need a good amount of investors."

"Sir, we have already had meetings with many investors even today morning. They won't agree."

I slam the table and everyone jolts back.

"Why aren't they agreeing!? There must be something stopping them! Before we had too many investors, now we have too little!"

"I need this graph going up by next week. You have until next week and if that graph doesn't go up...you will ALL regret coming into this world."

"Understood?"

They all nod.

I take a deep breath and calm myself down.

"All of you, go and look into this and come back with a reason by tomorrow."

"Yes Sir," they all say in sync and take their leave.

"Farjaad, you stay back."

                                                                                       *****

"Mate, they aren't gonna agree when the companies' profit is going down" he says.

"First of all, I am not your mate. Second, how am I supposed to get the profit up if people won't invest?" I ask.

"You can get...you know what leave it." "I don't want to die this early."

"What?" I say as I look him in the eye.

"You'll just get pissed. No point."

"Are you asking to get fired?"

"Geez. Don't have to be so harsh about it."

"I do." "Now tell me."

"Okay so I was saying that you can get..." he stops.

"Get what?" I look at him confused.

"M- married." He stutters but eventually says the word.

"Are you hearing yourself?!" I raise my voice.

"How do you think me getting married is going to make my profits come back up?"

"Look. People aren't investing in your company right?"

"Yes..."

"That's because they've started to lose hope in your business. You aren't even married yet which makes people think you're going to sell the company and give it to charity and they'll be left empty-handed. You don't even have a wife, let alone a child. They won't invest in a business that won't run for centruies like theirs."

"I don't believe in love, Farjaad."

"Who says you're gonna fall in love? You can divorce her after you get investors. Just tell the media you 'fell in love' so they believe it, just put on an act here and there and then after a year or so, say it wasn't working out and you decided it was better to leave each other than make matters worse. Simple."

I take note of what he says and consider the idea. How hard can it be? I can get rid of her after, once everything is running smoothly.

"Fine." I say with a low voice.

"OH MY GOD! YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR SO LONG, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

"I really don't, I guess. But remember, it's temporary. Don't get too excited."

"What a way to kill the mood. What happens if Mr Shameer Jafri falls in love?"

"No way. I don't believe in love Farjaad. Stop dreaming."

"We'll see about that then."

"Whatever, go to your office, I've had enough of you."

"Wow, so I just gave you a whole idea on how to bring your profits back up and you just told me to get out?"

"Yes, I did. Now go."

"Alright then. Have fun finding your wife. Byeee."

"Not my wife for long," I say under my breath.
