Shahmeer's POV:
"You have to do it, Shahmeer. You don't have a choice."
"It isn't necessary. Plus I have work piled up and I don't have the time."
"You're the owner. It's YOUR honeymoon. You can have as many holidays as you want."
"It's useless. It's a fake relationship. Honeymoons are for real couples."
"Well the media thinks you're a real couple. They're waiting for your honeymoon because they know it'll be all kinds of luxurious places. People online are guessing where you guys are going. It's only for what? Under two weeks. Stop making it such a fuss, man."
"Stop bossing me around and get back to your job. I'll think about it."
"Oh, I know who else you'll think about." I give him the 'get out of my office right now before I put you six feet underground' look and he leaves.
I could still taste the omelette and I wish it would never go away. It was the best thing I'd tasted. But I know that thought would change quickly.
Honeymoon. I was thinking somewhere in Greece. Most likely Santorini.
I searched some good places to visit there and made a list of around 15 places or things to do. I have a hotel there but I decided to buy a villa there, since it would be more open and private.
We would leave tomorrow afternoon, meaning we would reach late in the evening. Sounds fine to me.
Once I'd finished with everything, I opened the statistics bar for all my hotels. It was much better. Our ad on the billboard in London was also up. Our marketing strategies are perfect and advertisement was now making its way back up after the damage the Hussains' had caused.
__________
I was in the canteen and people were still coming for lunch. I decided to call My Wife and let her know about the honeymoon so she could start packing and also to see if she was alive.
"Hi!" Her voice sounded like a gentle melody that soothed me. When she speaks, there's a kind of calmness that comes over me, as if her words are carrying away the day's worries. There's a certain sweetness in her tone that makes even the most ordinary conversation feel like something precious. And when she laughs—oh, it's like sunshine breaking through the clouds. Her voice is my anchor, my favorite sound in the world.
"Hello?"
"Uh- yes. Hello."
"You called?"
"We have our honeymoon, starting tomorrow."
"WAIT WHAT?! Where?"
"Greece."
"What do I wear? What's the weather there? What are we doing there?"
"You ask too many questions, love."
"They're valid though. Well, I'll figure it out. It's probably your lunch so, enjoy. I'll see you later."
"Uh wait-" I wanted to talk to her for some reason. How do people make conversation?
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing much. I was reading before but I was going to call my friend before you did."
"Hm. Have you had lunch?"
"Well not yet. I was reading so I didn't keep track of time."
"Make sure you eat. Ask Kiran to make you something of your liking."
