Brutal yet severely charming man Shahmeer Jafri. The owner of a chain of the best luxury hotels in the world.
The definition of perfection in a human. Sweet mouthed and loyal girl Mahnoor Ali had the life of normal 27 year old. Or so she thought...
It was the second event of my wedding today and if I'm honest, I could never be ready enough. My dad didn't even congratulate me. What would he congratulate me for? Selling his daughter off and making her act in public? I wanted to excel him. He had always told me I couldn't do anything. I wanted to show him I could do something he wasn't capable of. The only things I wanted to achieve in life was a business, a little love story of my own and a stable marriage. I knew I couldn't excel his business so that wasn't the best option and I'd left my dream of having my own love story a while back, so I was only left with one option. A stable marriage. It was something he never got in his life. And if I was going to act in public that I had good relationship with my husband, it would make things a lot easier. I never wanted to make anything a competition between us, but he always did. And he always got what he wanted. But this time I wasn't letting that happen. He forced me into this marriage so I was going to make the best out of it.

I was waiting in my room texting Meerab since she hadn't come yet and I was all ready but she was running late since she had just got back from uni. I was wearing a gorgeous teal dress with delicate gold details tracing intricate patterns along the neckline and hem. It was quite heavy and a pain to walk in. But it all made sense since the man I was unfortunately getting married to was Shahmeer. Shahmeer Jafri. But as much as I hated how heavy the dress was, I had to admit, it was stunning.

My hair was in loose curls but you couldn't see it. I still appreciated the fact the hair stylist put in so much effort even though she knew they would be hidden. My two strands were curled since I felt weird without them. My makeup artist told me that apparently my dress was designer but I mean at least it looked pretty. I know I was mad at Shahmeer for not letting me choose my dresses but I must say he did a better job then me. God knows how expensive this was. What worried me is that if this was the dress for the mendhi, what was I going to wear on the baraat. Either it would be really bad or really good. To me, that dress was the most important. I guess I would see tomorrow.
"I'M HERE!" Meerab barged in, breathing heavily.
"Are you okay girl?" She seemed as if she'd ran a marathon.
"Uhhh- Rohail kinda found out about the wedding. Since last night, photos of you have been everywhere. Everyone in the university also knows so it was easy for him to find out."
"Crap. He's gonna kill me."
"He started questioning me since I was in some of the photos but I said I'd only found out yesterday when you invited me but he got mad as to why you didn't tell him."
"What did you say then?" She started acting it out and setting the scene for me.
"Okay so you know the stairs next to the first floor psychology department?"
"YES."
"OKAY. So I came out of the bathroom and he was standing outside and he showed me the picture where you came down the stairs and Shahmeer was standing infront of you and you took his hand. AND THAT'S NOT IT."
"WHAT NEXT?"
"Then he zoomed in to my face and looked at me and asked what I was doing there. So, like I told you, I said I'd only found out yesterday. When he asked me why you didn't tell him I said that you didn't want him to be hurt because you were also hurt."
"OH MY GOD, WE'RE BOTH DONE MEERAB."
"I KNOWWW!" Last time he saw me with a guy in the library and I was tutoring him. I ended up with five bruises on my leg and arm. I guess he was just protective. I never told Meerab because I knew she'd break his bones.
"Okay leave that for now, I'll deal with that later. You go get ready. You only have fifiteen minutes!"
"I'M SO LATE THANKS TO THAT IDIOT."
"HEYY, DON'T BE SO MEAN."
"Girl whatever." She looked at me without anything else on her mind as she stopped.
"Noor..."
"WHAT?"
"YOU LOOK BREATHTAKING MASHALLAH!"
"THANK YOUUU!" I thought I had something stuck on my face the way she was staring.
"OKAY NOW GO CHANGE SO YOU CAN TAKE ME DOWNSTAIRS."
"OKAYYY." She was cheerful and lively and always made my mood better instantly with just a smile. And in situations like these, I always knew she had my back. I loved her so much.

"HOW DO I LOOK?!?!?!"
"OH MY GOD! THE COLOUR SUITS YOU SO WELL."
She was wearing a long orange dress with gold and pink details at the top and bottom with a bright pink dupatta to match the details. Her hair was in curls and her makeup was light but with shimmer on the eyes and a baby wing.

"By the way, make sure you have your phone because yesterday we didn't take ANY good pictures." We were in such a rush yesterday because I wasn't on time so Meerab forgot her phone in the dressing room.
"Don't worry, I will! I was looking for something to post and there was barely any pics of us. Yes I did take 204 but none of them turned out good."
"Understandable," I say as we both laugh.
"Mahnoor? If Rohail shows up to the wedding what are we gonna do?"
"Girl, don't worry he won't. He has much better things to do."
