Shahmeer's POV:
Every movement of hers seemed to be mesmerising. Filled with elegance. She could be doing the simplest thing but she looked so captivating when doing so.
"Are you finished?" I push away my thoughts.
"I was just waiting for you. Do you want anything else?"
"Nope. I'm good."
________
She wouldn't seem to leave my mind. She's the storm I never wanted, but now I find myself drawn to the thunder in her eyes. I thought winning meant destroying her, but the more I fight, the more I find myself losing to her smile. Her eyes. Stars that shine bright. I hated the way she challenged me, but now it's her defiance I admire the most. The more I see her as my rival, the more I realise I'm just finding reasons to keep her close.
I watched her. She dropped her handbag on the vanity started to take pack my clothes in the suitcase.
"You don't need to do that. Mubashir will come in a few minutes."
"It's fine. I'm your wi-" I walk out the door and head to the home office.
*phone rings*
"Sir there has beeen a major incident we need you at the office!"
"What happened?"
"Sir, it's regarding the billboard in London."
"I'm on my way."
_________
I wasn't surprised. It was bound to happen. Someone had been shot in London and somehow the bullet was miscalculated and shot at our billboard screen. The person was shot on the second try, straight through the heart and died there and then. I knew it was an it was a rival. Most likely the Hussains. The billboard is high up on the building. How did they miscalculate the bullet that much for it to land 50ft above from where it was supposed to?
"Where's the footage of the scene?"
"Sir, no footage has been given from any shops in the area yet."
So they had been paid aswell. If you're planning to sabotage someone, do it well. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time.
"Has the man who got shot been revealed?"
"No. Not yet."
"As soon as you find out who it is, let me know."
"Yes Sir. Sir the company will pay you back for the loss."
"I don't need their charity. I need to know who was behind this."
"Sir, it's most likely the Hussains."
"I want the murderer identified."
"Absolutely Sir."
"Get back to work." He nods and leaves the the office. I look to my left to see the coffee table and two chairs. I had ordered for there to be two chairs from now on.
I looked at the frame on my desk and wished he was here. Maybe I could've asked him for advice. For help. He was the only person who understood me. We'd barely got to spend time together. And it was my fault he was gone.
"Sir. We have found the identity of the victim."
"Who is it?"
"Just a normal individual from a small village."
"Make sure his family gets help. Any news on the murderer?"
"No Sir, we're still trying."
"Try harder then. I need the murderer indentified before the clock hits nine." It was 7pm right now. Enough time.
I check if people have posted anything regarding the story on their social media on my computer. People are performing there all throughout the day. Someone must have recorded it. After a solid 30 minutes of searching, I come across a video of someone making a churros review at the same time. There's a gunshot in the background and they turn the camera towards the scene. The billboard has smoke coming out from it and there's a second fire from the gun. I pause the video and zoom into the killer for any identification. It's blurry but I see a shine coming from his wrist. It's an ordinary bracelet. But the charm shines which blocks the view of what the pendant looks like. I go back to when the camera had just turned turned to the killer and pause it before it focuses on the pendant. It's a handmade colourful bracelet with a heart charm. Half a heart charm. I check his clothes and see if I'd seen them anywhere and take a screenshot for future reference. The man was wearing a robber mask but there was a strand of light brown curly hair. He has wearing sunglasses so I couldn't see his eyes. Curly hair and a handmade bracelet. Vague description but it would have to do for now.
I send the screenshot to Farjaad and a few others for them to see too.
__________
"Any news?"
"Sir, we have come to a conclusion but we aren't sure."
"Go ahead."
"Mr Hussain has curly hair but his elder son doesn't have curly hair. We don't know what the younger one looks like but it could be him."
"Ah, he's a copy of me. Light brown curls and brown eyes. Nothing like his mother."
"But the hair type is common so it could be someone else."
After a few hours, we gather another piece of information by hacking into the train station's cameras and seeing where he came from. There's a glitch everytime we check where he came from but we see him on a phone. A red iPhone with a black rubber case.
Light brown curls, brown eyes, red iPhone with black rubber case and a colourful handmade bracelet with a half heart charm.
We were slowly getting somewhere but we'd only know if it was them if we came across the younger son. There was a reason the son was kept away from us. No photos of him are on social media as he is 'uninterested' in this stuff. He seems rather interested right now.
It was 11pm now and pitch black outside. I decide to head home and see if we have information by tomorrow morning. There would be more news articles and coverage of the incident.
