Shahmeer's POV:
I can't take it anymore.
The weight, the suffocation, the way everything feels like it's caving in—I can't breathe. My hands shake as I reach for the sheets, gripping them in tight fists before yanking them off the bed with all the strength I have left. Pillows, blankets—everything crashes onto the floor, but it's not enough. It's not enough to silence the storm inside me.
My chest heaves, my vision blurs. I need to scream. I need to rip this feeling out of me, need to tear apart this anger, this heartbreak, this betrayal that's eating me alive.
So I do.
I clutch the sheets, burying my face into them, and I scream. A raw, muffled sound, thick with everything I can't say. It's not loud, but it's desperate. Shaking, uneven. A sound that shouldn't belong to me—Shahmeer Jafri, the man who never breaks.
But right now, I'm not that man. Right now, I'm just a mess of shattered pieces, a storm of emotions I don't know how to contain.
The sobs come before I can stop them, quiet but relentless. Tears soak into the fabric, proof of the war I'm losing within myself. My shoulders shake, my fingers tightening around the sheets as if holding on to them will keep me from completely falling apart.
I sink to the floor, my back hitting the side of the bed. My head drops back, eyes staring at the ceiling, but all I see is her. Mahnoor.
The woman I let in. The woman I loved beyond reason. The woman who might have destroyed me.
I press the heels of my hands against my eyes, trying to stop the tears, trying to regain control—but there's nothing left to hold on to.
So I just sit there. Breathing. Breaking. Drowning in the silence of what used to be.
