HELL.
Humans in the living world would tell you it's one of the most fucked up places in existence.
A realm of eternal damnation, where souls of all the world's evil would descend to in their hour of death.
One where flames ablaze, skin would melt, torture and pain were amusement, and rock 'n' roll music blasted everywhere you'd go, when all you want is peace and quiet.
But little did those people know, Hell actually exists. ...And it's not as bad as they imagined to be.
Whilst those depictions are believed to be true, regardless, it was like a normal city on Earth. Sure it was like a real breadline at times, but it was still full of buildings and homes.
These 'half' fiery pits still included some of the beliefs that we know do exist, such as demons.
Hell-born or dead, these literally Satanic creatures were split into different races/species: Imps, succubi, overlords such as Beelzebub and Lucifer, and even anthropomorphic (animal-like) beings such as hellhounds.
A few of these inhabitants in this version of Hell was a small NGO company by the name of I.M.P, aka: the Immediate Murder Professionals.
This notorious group comprised of four demons (three imps and a hellhound) was a hitman company that prided themselves on a somewhat fundamental business model: To kill targets who were humans on Earth for their clients, who were sinner demons who used to have a life up above before said targets screwed them over and/or killed them in general. It was like a smash room where they could pay these assassins to take care of whatever unfinished business they had before moving on.
Funnily enough, this was a company that expected a well-earned pay from those clients, no matter how ditzy. And no other employee in this business was more dead-set on this than its founding boss, Blitzø.
Blitzø was an eccentric young imp who at times was complicated because of his personality, but was still experienced from the shitty lifestyle most demons of his kind grew up around, just as his other employees.
One of his favourites, to work with and to tease, was the nerdy but still badass Moxxie. Then the best was his all-badass wife, Millie. Together, they were known as M&M, as Blitzø affectionately loved to call them.
At times, they had more bron than each other, especially Moxxie which provoked the teasing out of Blitzø. But he never minded it and just continued on with life.
I would say afterlife, but they're both hell-born demons, so he never really died.
But there was one problem he could never try to avoid, which was the abuse from I.M.P's fourth employee.
That fourth employee, finally, was Loona. A giant, beautiful, but extremely dangerous hellhound woman who Blitzø adopted before she turned 18.
Loona was more monstrous than meets the eye and way more complicated than her co-workers, even Blitzø. She tended to be the typical teenager/young adult when her eyes were glued to her smartphone, and whenever they weren't, let's just say you'd wish she remained sarcastic.
She was never really one to share her feelings or any sensitivity about the past she had at all. Even with the people she trusted, she'd still drink and drink until the hangovers kicked in, and the worst part about this wolf-like demon is that if no-one was careful, they definitely wouldn't want to see her angry.
Her incredibly bad temper, hatefully scary glares, foul-mouthed attitude, and killer instincts were a massive giveaway to that.
Loona was used to having people drool over her because of the sexy appearance she had, no matter how annoying to her it was. Hell, if anyone even waved to her and said 'Good morning' with a smile, she'd rip their heads off with her razor sharp dagger-like teeth and fangs.
On her plus side though, whenever she wasn't being slaved away at the receptionist desk Blitzø had her leashed to a lot, those anger management issues would often come in handy as kicks, punches, and scratches for any big-time missions on the field. And only on certain occasions, unlike most wolves, Loona could be a real man-eater.
For example, her last target: a tomboy who called the cops on a now-dead whistler, got her arms torn off by her even sharper claws before getting dragged away to be silenced.
That next day...
The police were called to the scene of the disaster to find the woman's body clawed and mauled to death behind some bushes, with only a few missing pieces of her neck and chest area as if they'd been ripped or chewed out.
...And they were
Only, the police didn't know that, not for certain. And being beyond wolf behaviour, who wouldn't? Especially as the forensics unit studied the aftermath of the attack up-close.
"Hmm... according to the DNA samples in this saliva..." said the lead doctor. "I think... it was a wolf that attacked her."
The police team gasped, and some murmured amongst each other hearing this.
"What it must've done was claw her limbs off to make it bleed out faster, then drag her behind this brush, where it began to feast on her starting at the throat. Taking a few scattered bones with it."
Some of the officers and forensics crew gave him confused and flabbergasted looks over what they were hearing, as if they were asking him:'Are you serious?'
"Now I know what some of y'all are thinking and I damn-well agree." the doctor continued. "Wolves don't always attack humans, and even if they did, especially not like this. Are we even sure this was a legit wolf attack, sheriff?"
"The K9 unit growled the whole time they sniffed out the tracks." replied the sheriff in a very Southern drawl. "Seems only logical to presume, buckeroo."
The sheriff then left the scene as the doctor examined the corpse once more.
"The question now is how the fuck did they lose the scent?" he asked himself out loud.
After a few days though, they quit the case having realised, thanks to Loona, the attack was an unsolvable blur.
She may have been a bitch at times, but she knew better to just collect the bounty. Using a powerful artefact, she was able to cover those tracks before returning home. That artefact was known as the Grimoire.
Owned by a royal family of owl demons, by the name of the Ars Goetias, the Grimoire was not only one of the universe's most important books on magic and science, but when paid for properly by Blitzø, it also served as a gateway to Earth for I.M.P's field missions, so they could go back and forth safely without any mishaps.
With this incredible bond, these four individuals would no doubt by named one of the greatest dynamic teams in history, wherever in the world they were. Even if history had no idea they existed along with their hellish home.
Surprisingly, given she wasn't as heartless as she appeared to be, Loona was one of those individuals.
She wasn't always the kind of person to express her feelings a lot, but she knew she could always count on her adoptive boss for any problems she had. Based on his energy, the fuck that could happen.
But in short, Loona had a soft spot. Through all that anger, we both just wonder how she'll find it.
A/N: See y'all in the first chapter, where our story's adventure begins. What a way to kick off the story.
