INSPIRED BY THE 'LOONA THE CARETAKER' SERIES by METALBRONY823:
When the Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P) are called in to kill a target from Hell, Loona the hellhound finds a lost human boy snooping on them.
Suddenly guilty of harming him, she...
After the Veterans Day breakfast down at Fire and Brimstone's cafe, Loona was soon walking along the streets of Imp City trying to find a quiet shop or alleyway to hide in so she could portal up and take Balin to school.
"Hey, buddy, I noticed you looked a little glum during that shut-the-hell-up minute back at the cafe." she began speaking. "Was there something...? Hmm... is there someone you know who's involved with Veterans Day?"
"Mmhmm." sighed Balin sadly.
"Who?" Loona then asked further, before widening her eyes at that question. "And you don't have to talk all about this one, it's hard losing a loved one that way."
"Yeah. But I'm fine, Loona." replied Balin. "I mean, there's nothing to tell. Because I never really knew her."
"I see..."
"My mommy once told me she was my daddy and Aunty Corra's sister, before she went to a big battle to be a war nurse, and... didn't come home." explained the boy. "I was only 5 months old when that happened."
Loona then rubbed his little hair behind his ears in sympathy. "I'm sorry, kid." she spoke quietly.
"Thanks, Loona." Balin showed a small smile, which as usual, got Loona to show a smile herself. "Even though I never knew her, I still call her family."
Loona then sighed sadly, knowing how hard that was for her to feel.
Soon seeing a small place to hide in, Balin tugged on her shorts to divert her attention from her phone. "Hey Loona, I see a shop that's empty." he said.
Crouching down to his level, the boy then pointed her to a small sewing shop on the other side of the street.
With a shrug, Loona then threw Balin onto her back and did a parkour across the road, pouncing over one car with the boy hanging onto her neck before landing safely on the smooth and gravelly road.
When the two walked casually into the store, the boy was about to get off Loona's back before she got back on all fours seeing the cashier.
She was a rather old demon, but Loona crawled past her as Balin crouched down on her back just in case she could see perfectly and look their direction.
This all lasted until they found a good aisle to hide in. One that had darker lighting along with lots of fabric to make blankets and PJs out of.
As Balin slid off Loona's back, grabbing the Grimoire from her hair, he soon got an idea as he was about to hand it to her.
"Hey, Loona? Can we, uhh..." he asked. "Can we go see my Aunty's grave before we go to school?"
Loona then looked at her phone, seeing that the time was now 8:03am in Australia. "Okay Balin. But just for a little bit, okay? You got the book."
"Thank you, Loona." replied the boy with a smile.
As the boy opened a portal to No-Name Town, Loona quickly swiped a few bluebell-shaped backpack patches.
