About 15 minutes later...
A pack of assorted hellhounds in singlets who signed for the Wrath markets' traditional Hellhound 'n' Sheep race were now getting warmed up for what would be an exciting activity for them.
Although, to the sheep they were gunning after, Moxxie, ...it was about to be something else.
...
Out of sight, Moxxie was lathering himself with the scent of a demonic sheep using a paintbrush as his hands shook, while Millie watched him at the picket fence nearby, worried about his participation in this game.
"Hey, hon." she greeted him softly as she jumped over the fence.
"Oh. Hi honey, ...back?" her husband greeted back with a little anxiety.
As soon as he was marked with the scent, as set as melted chocolate, Moxxie drank about half a bottle of water as Millie soon noticed his lamb costume in one of the flaming trash cans next to her.
Thankfully, as she grabbed it out, the soft white fleece wasn't cooked to a crisp and even the little bell collar attached to the neck.
"Heh. Would've reminded me of a lil' raptor lamb me and Sal found during a depression." she chuckled with a little nostalgia. "We both raised him as early teens until we could find a random ewe to call her his mommy."
"Awww... well, might as well use this." Moxxie then grabbed the bell collar and put it around his neck. "I mean, I had a good enough wrap dressing up in these costumes before."
"But you do know you don't have to wear this one, right?" protested Millie softly, as she gagged at the smell of him. "Seeing, and smelling, this? I'm starting to think the Harvest Moon Festival was easy."
"I know. I've seen it first-hand too." replied Moxxie, remembering his experience. "It wasn't easy for me, but it all worked out in the end."
Hearing that from her husband, Millie had something working out in her head. "So this is still 'bout trying to be 'the man' daddy says everyone 'round these parts should be?"
"I guess... deep down, it brings me back to where the speed of it all wasn't my weakness." he sighed with a shrug. "Those heists back in the day with... that guy, before meeting Blitzø? That memory could be of some use to guide me the way you do. If I still do them, it's only because of you." Moxxie then planted a kiss on Millie's nose.
"Then hey." his wife gently touched his shoulder before he could leave. "You know I still love you, right?"
"I know." the white-haired imp smiled. "Folks around here, not so much, but Satan help me now."
"You'll prove yourself eventually." chuckled Millie, as she gave Moxxie a kiss on each cheek. "But for now, while you smell like... one part of a lamb, just go outwit my 'grand-daughter's' bushy ass!"
"Heh. Will do." Moxxie nodded with a little bravery before leaving for the tracks.
...
Loona soon made it to the tracks in her country outfit just before Moxxie could, where she saw Tex and a few of her party friends warming up for the race.
One of her best ones, GIGI, was spraying some flea repellent in her hair, fluffing the bangs away from her eyes to do so, before planting an ice-cream cone on her head for a little sun protection.
Her other friends included HARLEY, who was getting her reps and steps in at twice the speed of any hellhound her height, as her claws unsheathed and sharpened more with each step.
SCYTHE pretended to drink a red cup of water as it spilt down her back, shielded by her long hair, before drinking a red cup of blood so she could get laser-focused on the 'sheepish' target.
