Ch.18 - 'Human' Loona, Welcome to No-Name Town

Loona walked along the street with Balin still in her arms, a little shook up from the hold-up by her old enemy from the orphanage and his gang of loan-sharks from the Greed ring.

As she stroked his back for comfort and whispered sweet nothings to him, while there was no-one around, Balin yawned and loosened his grip on her. Those sweet nothings reminded him of his mommy's affection back home, with sayings such as:

'It's gonna be OK' or 'I'll always be here, I promise'

It was impressive to Loona of how she was able to nail all two sayings, even if she still had her standards around other children, especially ones she carried in her arms in front of people, let alone other demons.

"C-Can I walk now, Loona?" asked Balin.

"Don't need my permission, little dude." she replied, putting him down. "Just remember, stay close."

With the boy then hanging onto her leg as they walked, the two soon arrived at the coffee shop.

The building outside had a 1960s-style exterior while the inside looked like most modern cafes nowadays, with fancy tilings and cushions on the chairs up against the wall. It was filled with smooth jazz music, the smell of toast and cakes were everywhere, and demons of all kinds were sitting and chatting.

This cafe was owned by a gay couple of sinner demons whom it was named after AND who Loona and Balin walked up to by no coincidence.

Fire was a chihuahua-like hellhound with literally flaming red hair, and Brimstone was a lean imp with glasses and bagpipe-checkered tattoos all over his arms, as if he died during the battle of Braveheart.

"...And what'll it be this morning?" greeted Brimstone cheerfully.

"I'll just grab myself a flat white." replied Loona as she held up her phone, as usual, but ready to pay.

As Loona paid, Brimstone ripped up the receipt from the register and handed it to Fire as he waltzed past him with a board with small plates, like a fancy restaurant.
