On all fours, Loona ran all the way along the dirt roads of the Wrath ring, trying to catch up to Balin as Millie and Sallie-May raced each other to their family ranch, each taking turns snatching them from each other.
Soon, she reached the Rough 'n' Tumbleweed ranch, their home, and quickly got up on her hind legs just a few seconds before reaching their sights.
As she panted like a totally parched dog, she saw Balin's head being ruffled by the girls' parents, Joe and Lin. Mainly by the mother, Lin.
"Balin?" she called out to him breathlessly. "You okay?"
"Hey Loona!" Balin waved to her happily. "I'm okay!"
"Ugh, thank Satan." she sighed in a near-death relief.
"Whoa there, little doggy." said Joe in his gruff country accent, walking up to her. "You need some water or something?" he then held up a dog bowl filled with fresh water, but Loona felt disgusted seeing that.
"Eww, stop!" she snapped softly. "Do I look like an Earth dog to you, old man?"
"Yeah, ol'... I mean, Joe." said Lin in agreement. "Come to think, she does look like the hellhound Mills brought over the last time she visited."
"...Oh yeah!" said Joe in realisation. "The one that came with her boss dude. I assume, he's your dad?"
"Only on paper." replied Loona with a flat tone and an eye roll. "For that, y'all still don't deserve..."
"Anywho, Ma, Pa, y'all two remember Loona, right?" interrupted Sallie-May cheerfully. "She's the hound who's also been looking after this little ice-cream sandwich, ever since he arrived here."
"Hmm, I could see a little resemblance when he was a cute lil' puppy." said Lin.
"I gotta ask now." Joe spoke to Balin. "How did a spunky human child such as yourself wander into our lil' ol' world?"
"Oh, uhm... he's still a little sensitive on that, sir." Loona replied for him with more kindness in her flat tone. "Sure, it's been a few months, but we all know how much it still hurts. Right?"
"Seems only right." replied Lin with a shrug. "We got all the time over Thanksgiving weekend to get to know the little fella."
Soon, the conversation was interrupted by the sound of scraping car metal and rubber tires. They all looked to see it was Neptune and Marijiana as they pulled the van all the way towards the ranch with their super strength, while Blitzø just sat on the sunroof and Moxxie followed close by.
"Well, what do we have here?" Joe said as he walked over to inspect the van.
"Oh, hey Joe." greeted Moxxie with a sheepish chuckle. "We, uhh, kinda had a little engine trouble on the way over."
"Gee, isn't that tragic." Sallie-May said with a flat expression at Moxxie, before smirking at Millie, who punched her shoulder in response.
"Huh. Okay seeing ya again, Moxxie." shrugged Joe, before examining the car.
This sudden hint of respect made Moxxie a little surprised. "Huh."
"Good for ME to see you again too, my man." Blitzø said with a smile.
He energetically dived into the sunroof like an Olympic gold-medal winning diver and smashed his way out of one of the windows to greet him.
"Likewise, boss-man." Joe replied with a little more spunk, as he latched his shaking hand onto Blitzø's and squeezed it tightly, like guys do. "Elf says y'all got some quote-on-quote 'engine trouble'. *mutters to him* Does his marriage?"
