Minutes after finding and soothing the little boy, Balin was still in Loona's arms, but she was now carrying him down the trail of the No-Name Town botanical gardens with the imp trio leading the way out in front.
Every so often, Moxxie would slightly look behind him to see the boy's back and head being rubbed by the hellhound. He felt so guilty for his earlier behaviour, the white-haired imp even looked only when he was sure Loona was looking at him too.
The words from his blow-out, didn't seem to match what he was seeing right now.
"So... sport! Hehehehehe." he soon spoke sheepishly. "H-How're you, hanging? Up there?"
"Huh?"
"He means, you doin' okay?" said Loona.
"Yeah. You... doing a little better?"
"A-A... A little?" Balin stuttered, only looking at Moxxie with one eye.
"Yeah?" Moxxie asked again. "You ready to- uhh... tell us why... th-this place, isn't school, yet?"
This time, no reply from Balin was heard, except for a sniffle.
"NO?! Yeah, that's totally fine with me! I understand." the imp awkwardly spoke up again before Balin could reply. "I mean, I am your uncle, f-figuratively, after all, you can talk whenever you're read-"
"Moxxie." Loona interrupted, making him look up in surprise that she'd use his actual name. "Stop it."
"O-Okay." the white-haired imp looked back down again.
"She appreciates it, hun. They both do." Millie sympathised him, rather sheepishly also. "But can I please say on her behalf: PRETTY please shut the fuc-?"
"I-I-I-It's okay." Balin then spoke before Millie could finish. "I-I can talk."
"You sure, kiddo?" asked Loona sincerely.
He still looked away from her as she carried him, but Loona could feel Balin's head nodding on her shoulders. So as she and the imps came to a stop, still on the trail, the boy slowly turned his face to them.
"Y-You see,..." he began speaking. "I-I was, doing some r-rehearsing for my, school v-variety show, this Friday,"
"Go on, hun." Millie supported him with a sweet smile.
"A-And, I..." Balin continued. "And I-"
Before the kid could continue, he suddenly heard an echo. The entire I.M.P crew did. It was a low rumbling sound, like a growl, that came from around the forest surrounding them.
"Morningstar, Loona. She was just being supportive!" Moxxie looked up at the hellhound, unamused. "Did you have to shut her THAT kinda fuck up?"
"No, no, no, wait." Loona perked up her ears, hearing that sound too.
"Whatever it was... WEAPONS!" seethed Millie, grabbing out her axe.
"Mills, I'm sure it was just one of our tum-tums." said Blitzø, patting his belly but still holding his flint anyway. "Rumbling, from... behind the... bushes?"
The boss heard the rumbling again, this time, mixed with some rustling from the bushes right next to the demons. Suddenly, a lone medium-sized Tasmanian devil covered in black-and-white fur, and rabies, pounced from out of the bushes and roared at the sight of them.
"AAAAHHHH!" everyone screamed.
"AN EARTH SKUNK!" cried Blitzø.
Loona felt as Balin shivered into her fur, looking at the native rodent in fear.
