Minutes after the recent destruction of the Imagination Castle, everyone was back at the I.M.P headquarters safe and sound after their second encounter with Devo/Belial, thanks to Stolas AND Balin.
As Loona scrolled through the Grimoire to open a portal to Matt and Amy's houses, Stolas spoke to the three human kids in surprise.
"I-I still don't understand." he said. "There are other Grimoires in the mortal realm?"
"Other Grimoires?" Balin said in confusion. "I thought there was only one."
"Maybe..." Blitzø shrugged, feigning a mystical tone.
"Well, duh-" Loona was about to speak further, when she was interrupted.
"Maybe not..."
"Ugh." she then shoved Blitzø behind her. "There are sick groups on Earth using books like those after all."
"Really?" the three kids tilted their heads in curiosity.
"Aww, you young'uns will learn more about that when you're older, I bet." Millie chuckled, as she patted a tired Moxxie's back on the curb.
"Right..." Stolas cleared his throat as he continued speaking to Balin and his friends. "Sp-Speaking of older, that kind of rescue was way too... mature, for your little mortal selves."
"Yes, Mr. Stolas. Sorry, Mr. Stolas." Balin replied, lowering his head in sorrow.
"Oh no, no, no. I'm actually just surprised." Stolas slowly showed a small smile. "I mean, how did you three little ones ever manage to pull it off?"
"I mean, Balin does live in Hell. He must have learnt from his new friends" Amy replied, looking Balin with a smile.
Balin then flushed hearing that. "I don't know about that. But, I had some help from my best- ...friends?"
Looking back at his two human BFFs, Balin saw a rather down look on Matt's face. He remembered how he reverted from his hellhound form back to his human form in front of him, so he easily became worried for him.
First, it was Amy's. Now, it was his best friend's turn to see him as a hellpup.
"Alright, little squirts, best get home as fast as you can now." Loona said, activating the portal spell with her paw.
With that, two portals soon opened up to both Amy and Matt's houses, out of plain sight of course.
"Well, I guess we'll see you at school tomorrow." Amy said with a small smile.
"Yep. I'll s-..." Balin said nervously, before taking a deep breath and looking down in shame. "Sorry."
"Sorry?" Matt then looked up at his best friend with intrigue. "What are you sorry for?"
"I'm sorry, that you saw me as a demon." Balin then looked up at his best friend too.
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean, I'm a hellhound. I've been one,... ever since I was sick." continued Balin. "I wanted to keep it a secret, because, wh-when Amy saw me like this,-"
"Wait. You knew?" Matt then looked at Amy in surprise.
"...By accident." replied the little girl.
Balin finished with a sigh, and one tear leaving his eye. "I just,- I don't want to lose my best friend in the whole wide world."
"Why would you, mate?" his BFF said in a concerned tone.
"B-B-Because, I've changed into a-"
"A cute little puppy dog?" Matt then sounded happy.
