Loona held Balin's hand across the street a few minutes after their coffee and donut snack at Fire & Brimstone's cafe, before arriving at the same fabric store they sometimes used to drop him over at school whenever they had breakfast there or at 'Infused God.'
"W'sup...?" she awkwardly greeted the elderly cashier, who just waved back at her politely.
Just like at the cafe, easy-listening music played all around the store as the two passed the other demons, old ladies and fashion designers, who sewed to their hearts' content.
"Hey, you still good? You know, after that imp at the cafe-?" Loona asked Balin, crouching down to his level.
"Yeah. I'm okay." sighed the little boy in response. "But it's fine. He wasn't that bad. He was actually, kinda, funny."
"He was?" As he nodded, Loona let out a chuckle. "Well. That's good ol' Wally for you."
"Wally?" Balin looked up at her curiously.
"You know, that ape-sh... b-bonkers jester you've seen on TV, once or twice?"
"Strange. I thought I'd see him in books. Not on TV." pondered the boy.
"Pfft! Meal, I'm talkin' about Wally Wackford." Loona broke out into laughter. "I don't know what kinda Wally YOU'RE talkin' about."
"Oh yeah... the 'wacky' demon." Balin said in realisation. "Doesn't he work at an arcade too?"
"You have no idea, squirt." the hellhound scoffed. "He's not just a jester, he's an 'important' businessman."
"Wow..." Balin's eyes widened hearing this, unaware of Loona's sarcasm.
"And if anything, he really is a desperate piece of shit too." she then mumbled to herself.
"What does 'desperate' mean?" the boy asked, tilting his head.
"Uhhh, it means hoping too much. Or, not hoping at all." replied Loona sheepishly.
"Okay."
Soon, after a few seconds of walking, the two made it to their usual hiding 'aisle' of the fabric store.
"So, is there anything you wanna do in No-Name Town this time?" asked Loona. "A movie? Visit the ol' relatives? None of those 'you don't know' things?"
"Gosh, I don't kn-" Balin was about to answer, but then he got an idea. "Actually, Loona?"
"Yep?"
"Can we, go to... Canberra? Please?" he asked her kindly
"Canberra? Wh-What's a Canberra?" Loona tilted her head next.
"It's a city. A big one." replied the boy. "Me and my mommy and daddy go on weekend vacations there sometimes. Have you guys gone to Canberra before?"
"...I hate to break it to ya, but I.M.P has only been to Australia once. Or twice. Mainly, your hometown." Loona spoke with a little regret in her voice. "But,... what place in Canberra were you thinking?"
"Ooh. That's a tough question." the boy scratched his chin. "Whenever we visit, we always go to this fun place called the mall."
"Which mall?"
"I-I'm not sure. I know what it looks like, but I don't know what it's called."
"Then, why not lead the way?" Loona held the Grimoire in her hands for Balin to carry.
"Are you sure?" he asked, a little nervous at the idea of using it.
"If you remember the place." she replied. "Besides, you've used it before
