Melanie invited me over to help her with packing today. I wanted to make a great impression on her members, so I took extra care in getting ready. I chose a crisp white shirt paired with a sleek black coat and pants, finishing the look with a classic tie.
Excitement and nervousness battled within me. The prospect of having Melanie move in my apartment filled me with joy, yet I worried about meeting her expectations and providing everything she needed. I longed to give her the world and shower her with the attention she deserves. Despite these anxieties, I resolved not to let them cloud my mind.
I hurried out of my apartment, unlocked my car, and set off towards Melanie's building. Upon arriving, I noticed the parking lot was full, forcing me to walk down a narrow path to reach the entrance.
At the door, I was greeted by a young man and woman who I assumed were Duncan and Daisy. I approached them with a sense of unease, colored by the less-than-flattering things I had heard about them.

I approached them, extending my hand toward Duncan. "Hello, sir." I wasn't sure how they'd react, but to my surprise, Duncan shook my hand warmly and smiled. "Hi Noah, it's great to finally meet you. I'm Duncan, and this is my wife, Daisy." He gestured toward the young woman beside him, and I smiled at her.
"Please, come inside," Daisy said as they both stepped aside to let me in. "We've been looking forward to meeting you, Noah. We wanted to see the man who had captured Melanie's heart," Daisy added as they led me to their living room. I took a seat and gestured for them to do the same. "Make yourself comfortable while we call Melanie," Duncan said before they left.
I admired the beautifully maintained room. The wall paintings were exquisite, and the room was adorned with heavy, expensive decorative pieces that added a touch of elegance.
After a few minutes, Melanie appeared. I stood up out of respect, and she rushed over to hug me tightly. "I can't believe we're doing this, Noah," she said joyfully. I caressed her head and hugged her back with equal enthusiasm.
Our embrace was interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. It was Duncan and Daisy. "Melanie, is your packing done?" Duncan asked. "Some of it is," she replied. Duncan nodded and turned to Daisy. "Daisy, help Melanie with her packing. I need to have a word with Noah."
As Melanie and Daisy left the room, Duncan gestured for me to sit back down. We both settled into our seats. "Noah, I know you love Melanie and will take good care of her. There's not much to discuss, but..." He hesitated, so I encouraged him. "Go ahead. You can talk to me."
"As you know, our leader Mr. John's truth has been revealed to you. We weren't aware of it either, but Melanie is very determined. We advised her that this truth might affect your relationship and that she should stay away from you. But she ignored us and found out the truth herself."
