Y/N POV

The plan was that simple. Hand Kazuha over to my ex, and she'll return my sister as well as her friend. Simple.

"Nervous?" Minji asked.

I sighed. Lying wasn't going to calm me down. "Guilty."

My friend nodded understandingly and patted my back. "Ever since we met her that day, you've seemed to gain back your old self," she told me. "You're not that cold towards people anymore."

Not true but not a lie either. I looked down at Kazuha, who was sleeping peacefully on my lap, and thought about what Minji said. Somehow, I felt like I'd seen her before, but I wasn't sure where or when.

The time was nearing, and my heart pounded louder with each passing second. I gently brushed a strand of hair from Kazuha's face, wishing the situation were different.

"Do you think she'll hate me for this?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Minji looked at me, her expression soft but resolute. "She might. But it's not about hate or love right now."

I nodded, taking a deep breath. Minji was right.

Kazuha stirred slightly, murmuring something unintelligible in her sleep. I readied myself and reached for the syringe. The liquid inside was clear, almost deceptively innocent. I glanced at Minji one last time. She gave me a curt nod.

"Here goes nothing," I muttered to myself, positioning the syringe against Kazuha's arm. I hesitated for a moment, guilt twisting my insides, then pressed the plunger down. Kazuha's body tensed momentarily before relaxing again. I could only hope the drug would keep her unconscious until we made the exchange.

With Minji's help, I lifted Kazuha and carried her to the car. The drive to the abandoned train station was eerily quiet, the only sound being the occasional hum of the engine. My mind raced, contemplating every possible scenario, every possible outcome.

When we arrived, the station was as desolate as I remembered. The once bustling hub was now a decaying shell, a perfect stage for a mysterious meeting. We carefully carried Kazuha inside, her limp form making me feel a pang of remorse with each step.

In the dim light, I saw Chaewon waiting, her expression unreadable. She stood alone in the center of the room. I felt a surge of anger as I approached her.

"Chaewon," I greeted curtly.

She smirked, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Y/N. Always the punctual one."

"Let's get this over with," I said, nodding towards Kazuha. "Where's Yeji and Ryujin?"

Chaewon gestured to another carriage which had a lock intact. She walked over and unlocked the padlock and dragged my sister and her friend out. I sighed in relief. They had a few scratches but nothing too serious.

"Here they are, as promised," Chaewon said smoothly. "Now, hand over Kazuha."

I hesitated, glancing at Minji. She nodded, urging me to follow through. I took a deep breath and started walking towards Chaewon, Kazuha still in my arms. Chaewon gestured to a sofa that was hidden in the shadows. I didn't walk towards there.

"Not until Yeji and Ryujin are safely with Minji," I stated firmly.

Chaewon chuckled. "Always the negotiator."

She released her grip on the rope that was securing Yeji and Ryujin. They stumbled towards Minji, who quickly ushered them to safety. I watched them go, a sense of relief washing over me. But it was fleeting. Now, I had to complete my part of the bargain.
