Explanation (Chapter 27)

Y/N POV

"Explain everything to me one more time, from top to bottom," I said, plopping one of my legs on the chair. It had been an hour since my birthday party, and we were sitting in the middle of the warehouse floor.

"Starting with Kazuha being a transferred student—it was all planned. Chaewon's father owns the other school where Kazuha used to be, so they scheduled you and Kazuha to meet up at your school while making Chaewon look like the bad guy when, in fact, we were planning your birthday party. Minji was part of the plan, pushing you to talk to Kazuha before 'Chaewon does,'" Hyunjin explained again.

"The part where Kazuha was 'shot' and the hospital drama? Yeah, that was another setup by us. Minji held you back, giving Chaewon enough time to pour fake blood on the sofa. She also fired blanks, and the injury by Kazuha? Not real. It was all makeup! I mean, did you notice how her 'injury' healed faster than it should have?" Minji continued.

"Ok, but what about Wonyoung's disappearance and Kyujin's death? It's not like you guys are clairvoyants or anything, able to see the future and plan this party, right?" I inquired.

"We also planned that. Chaewon took a huge risk by orchestrating that step," Kyujin answered. "You could consider her a chess player—taking risks to win and outsmart the opponent."

"So everything was planned out from the very beginning, and I just fell right into the middle of the game, used as a pawn?" I summarized.

"Basically, yeah," Yeji said with a small giggle.

"The plan is smart, sure, but what would have happened if I didn't follow your little scheme?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Chaewon gave a short chuckle. "I had a backup plan just in case this one failed but you don't need to know what it is."

"Ok never mind that. The place where you held me hostage. Is that a real place or am I hallucinating?" I needed to know this one last fact before I closed.

"Oh, that. It was in the school's basement where nobody uses it," Wonyoung replied.

"And one more question! Who's Y because I'm sure my sister is not it," I added.

"Who's gonna tell her?" Kazuha said with a laugh, the rest of us exchanging glances that said we'd all likely be avoiding that topic for a while.

"oh... Oh... OH!" The realization hit me like a ton of bricks.

"Yet another birthday surprise isn't it?" Yeji said with a wink. "None of us were hurt and it was all a play. Credits to Chaewon for planning everything out and taking risks so this could happen."
