Y/N POV

The shadow of the man was looming over me at this point. Then the store bell jingled again. I dared a peek and saw Minji standing in the doorway, her eyes locking onto mine. She gave the slightest nod before addressing the men.

"Excuse me, officers, is there a problem here?" she asked, her voice calm and authoritative.

The men turned to face her, clearly taken aback. "Just conducting an investigation, ma'am," one of them replied, trying to regain his composure.

"Well, I'm sure you'll find who you're looking for elsewhere," Minji said smoothly, stepping aside to let them leave.

"Come on Tae, it's not worth it," one of them said and put a hand on his partner's shoulder.

After a tense moment, his partner, Tae, grudgingly exited the store. Minji waited a beat before rushing to the counter and pulling me up. "Let's go," she whispered urgently.

Before leaving, I thanked the store guy for his help and exited.5

"How did you get here so fast?" I asked.

"I asked the taxi driver to break a lot of traffic rules," she replied in a calm tone.

We reached the bike and mounted it. Minji secured her helmet and held my shoulder in a tight grip. Once I made sure everything was ok, I revved the engine and headed towards the direction of Sullyoon's house.

Half-way through the journey, another car followed us but the driver gave a wave of hand, indicating Kyujin. Danielle was sitting on shotgun and she gave a 'ok' sign. Minji sensed it but she also sense me not being tense.

"You know them?" she asked-shouted since the wind was loud and her helmet muffled half of the sound.

I nodded, not wanting to speak. The journey continued until we turned the corner, Sullyoon's house appearing in front of us. Kyujin parked the car and I parked the bike where it would be hidden for now.

Before knocking on the door, Minji asked her to stay outside for now. "Just in case," she said softly. Kyujin nodded, understanding the precaution.

We approached the door, and I gave it a firm knock. Sullyoon opened it almost immediately, her face lighting up with relief when she saw us. Kazuha was behind her, her arm bandaged up, a faint color of red staining the white fabric.

I stepped back a little and looked back at where they were hiding, waving a hand to indicate it was okay. Kyujin stepped out from the shadows with Dani and Haerin behind.

Sullyoon's eyes widened in shock, her face turning pale. "Kyujin?" she whispered, her voice trembling. Kazuha then appeared next to Sully and also froze.

"I think there are some confidential information to talk about." I cleared my throat to get everyone's attention.

"I suggest we go inside," Minji added. "You two can go home. Try not to get involved in this mess." That was directed to Haerin and Danielle in which they responded by bowing and walking away.

The group walked in and I closed the door, locking it. We settled into the living room, the weight of the situation pressing down on us. Sullyoon's house, once a place of comfort, now felt like a temporary refuge in an ongoing storm.

"Now. Explain," Kazuha demanded.

"Good to see you again, Kazuha, Sullyoon," Kyujin said, nodding her head to acknowledge their presence.

"Explain," Kazuha repeated, her voice steely with impatience.

Kyujin took a deep breath, her eyes meeting each of ours in turn. "I faked my death because of the Citizen's Administrative. Ever heard of them?"
