Emily was in the pub with Leah and the others from the hospital. They were all on a night out. And Emily needed to let her hair down. She wanted to forget about her issues with Iain.

Emily knew she missed him. She knew that she wanted to somehow fix it with him. To give their daughter the perfect family. Knowing it was all she wanted.

Emily looked to Leah and smiled. "Is Sam not joining us?" She asked.

Leah shook her head and smiled. "No. He's on Alexa duty. She wasn't settling on anything less than him," she told her. She looked to her. "Are things with you and Iain okay?"

"We're kinda talking. I miss him. And Calleigh does too. So I want it to work for her sake. But I don't know."

Leah nodded. "Well he's just walked in. So why don't you leave your favourite sister and go talk to him? I'm going nowhere just yet. Sam said I'm to text him when I want picking up and he'll come get me. So I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Go. I'll be fine."

Emily grabbed her drink and walked over to Iain. She smiled. "Can we pretend that tonight we're friends? I miss you. And I miss my drinking buddy."

Iain turned to her and nodded. He smiled and pulled her close. "Where's Calleigh?" He asked.

"With Charlie and Duffy. They offered to have her so I don't have to rush back," Emily said. She looked to him. "What do you say we pretend we're back to normal?"

"Deal."

Iain spun Emily against the wall, pressing her into it as the door to the bedroom clicked shut. She needed a distraction from life. And he was the perfect distraction.

"Best night ever," Emily grinned when his lips closed in on hers.

He would have smiled, but he had other things on his mind, the evidence of which was pressing into her stomach.

Pulling her from the wall, he guided her toward the bed, fingers tugging at the zipper of her dress as he did.

"Iain?"

"Yes." The material slipped from her frame, pooling at her feet.

"Happy drinking day."

He smirked and flicked the clasp of her bra free. "Didn't know this was a day to celebrate," he said as he kissed her.

Leaning forward, she slid her underwear down her legs, kicking them off when they reached her ankles. "You're in a hurry."

Her fingers moved to his button up, the one he'd paired with jeans and had left untucked, dislodging each catch as she worked her way from the bottom up.

"How often do we get time together without anything getting in the way?" Emily said.

Iain bit back the threatening smirk when her fingers slipped between flesh and the hem of his pants. "Did you plan to relax at all while we're here?" He asked.
