Emily sighed as she got out of her car, she was nervous it was her first day at the ED. She was an trained doctor and that wasn't what she was nervous about, she was nervous about seeing her mother, Connie. Emily and Connie hadn't spoken In three years, not since she was found in bed with Sam, Sam was Emily's little sister, graces father and at the time, he was Connie's boyfriend that was until he ended up in bed with Connie's, eighteen year old daughter, Emily, Emily was the result of a one night stand, she had no clue who her dad was and neither did her mother, which caused tensions between Connie and Emily throughout the years. Once grace was born, Grace got Connie's love, and sams, something Emily never had, Connie always made Emily feel isolated and left out which is why she lashed out so much and the reason she fell in bed with Sam especially when he started paying her attention. Connie kicked Emily out at eighteen and she went off to university and trained to be a nurse, she wanted to help people and, without Connie's knowledge Sam has been helping her, he helped her get a flat and he supported her financially through university, only costing her one thing, sex with him. Now Sam had offered her a job, and now she knew that she would be coming face to face with her mother.

Emily walked into the ED her blonde hair, blew over her shoulder. She wasn't a natural blonde, she dyed her hair from sixteen, she was naturally a brunette like her mother. Emily walked to the reception "im looking for Sam Strachan"  "hes in the office, down the hall" Noel said pointing her into the direction "thank you" emil said as she walked off, her high heels clicking off the tiles. She knocked on the door "come" Sam said as Emily walked in "id rather not, well not yet" Emily said and Sam looked up at the work he was doing and smiled at her "Emily" Sam said smiling at her "Sam" Emily said. Sam walked over towards a drawer and pulled out the uniform "ready?" he asked "what, to come face to face with my mother you mean"  Emily asked and Sam smiled "you'll be fine" "really? because Im certain my mum hates me for sleeping with her boyfriend, yet im still sleeping with him" "she doesn't know that does she" Sam said and Emily smirked at him. Emily changed into her uniform and walked into the ED, where she seen a little girl, hat looked a lot like her sister, grace. She hadn't seen grace in three years and she felt terrible because of it. Emily closed the tears trying to not think  about grace. "what's your name sweetie" Emily asked "holly" "where's your mummy" "i don't know, there was a crash and I hurt my arm" holly said "do you want me to look, at it" "are you a doctor" holly asked "i am" "okay" holly said as she clunk to her teddy bear.

Sam walked out into the ED, to see Emily checking over holly "everything okay" Sam asked "yes, she has a broken arm, she was involved in their car crash near the old barn, any news on the mother" Emily asked "still in surgery" Sam said and Emily smiled as she looked back to holly "is my mummy okay" holly asked "we're doing our best to help her" Emily said as she wrapped holly's arm up "were going to have a nice cast on your arm" Emily said and holly smiled " a pink one?" "yeah, if you want a pink one" Emily said. Sam smiled as he looked at the job she was doing.

Emily sighed as she walked into the staff room, she needed a coffee. Emily poured herself a coffee as Iain walked in, he looked at her and smiled "your the new doctor?" Iain asked "yeah, that's me, im Emily" Emily said "Iain" said shaking her hand. Emil smiled to Iain, there was something about him that she knew she liked, she just couldn't quite but her finger on it. Connie walked towards the staff room, she needed a coffee, grace was pushing her out and she was beyond worried.  Connie walked into the staff room and was shocked to see her oldest daughter "hi mum" Emily said as Connie walked over to her, she couldn't believe she was looking back at Emily. Connie slapped Emily across the face, her nails cutting Emily's cheek "what the hell are you doing here" Connie asked Emily held her cheek "are you okay" Iain asked Emily "im fine, I work here mum" Emily said and Connie looked to Emily "like hell you do" "go and speak to Sam, about it then" Connie chuckled to herself "Sam, Sam blood Strachan I should of known" Connie said as she glared at her daughter.
