Emily sighed as she sat on the edge of the bed. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. She couldn't stop thinking over Connie and the cancer, she didn't know what to do and she felt trapped. She wanted to tell someone but she couldn't. Emily smiled slightly as he walked into the room with calleigh. He stood feeding her and looked to Emily and frowned. Iain knew Emily and he could tell that there was something up and that there was something bothering her. He sighed to himself as he walked over and sat next to her and smiled. He took a hold of her hand and smiled "I know you Emily, I know when there is something bothering you and I wish that you would talked to me instead of shutting yourself out, you did this when cal died. Don't push me away, I love you no matter what" Iain said as Emily looked to him with tears in her eyes and Smiled

"It's not my secret, but I can't keep it to myself it's too big" she said as Iain looked to her and nodded. He placed calleigh into the cot as she fell asleep and looked to Emily and placed a hand on her cheek and smiled "I went tell a soul, you can trust me" he said as she smirked slightly "it's my mum, she has cancer. She has leiomyosarcoma. She wants me to stay quiet but I really don't know if I can. She's my mum and I don't know what to do, I don't know how to help. How am I meant to act as if I'm okay when she could die and I don't want to lie to Leah, she has a right to know" Emily sobbed as Iain pulled her into a hug and smiled "it's going to be okay, we'll work it out. She's a fighter she'll be okay" Iain said as he held her close.

Later that day, Emily got to work and sat in the staffroom as Leah walked in "hey" Emily said as Leah looked to her "so, Sam wants to adopt alexa, he wants her to have a father" Leah said as Emily looked to her and frowned "she does have a father just because he's not here doesn't mean she doesn't have one and he would be an amazing dad and Sam can't take over he feels like it, besides she should know of her real dad" Emily said annoyed as she walked off. She was annoyed Sam was trying to take cals place

Later that day, Emily walked into Connies office and looked to her and sighed "we need to talk" "Emily" "no, your my mum okay and I won't sit back and watch you die, you need to talk to someone and Leah needs to know, she's your daughter too" Emily said as she started to cry. Connie looked to her and smiled "I'm going to be fine" Connie said as he door to the office and looked to them and frowned "what's going on?" Leah asked as Emily looked to Connie and sighed "ask her" Emily said as she walked off. She felt alone and scared and didn't know how to stay strong in it all
