RABYA

"I'm so tired." I stretched my limbs and yawned when the movie ended. "But the movie was good."

Adhrit nodded. "It was."

"What did you like the most about it?" I asked, wanting to have a long conversation with him.

Conversations.

I've never been introvert. It's just that I never got a chance to talk about the things. I have always kept myself confined to myself because I didn't have the luxury to live in the moment, I wanted to create a beautiful future for my family. But now that, I want to live for myself, I want to live in the moment. I want to have conversations. No. Very long conversations with Adhrit where we talk about our music taste, movies, patriarchy, anything and everything. But more than that, I want to know about him.

"You tell me what did you like most about the movie?" He straighten himself to get up from the bed.

"It's alright. You can sit on the bed." I speak in a rush to stop him.

He halted, slowly shaking his head as he sit back on the bed while carefully maintaining a distance with me.

Stop it, Rabya. Don't feel awkward.

"Mountains." I whispered. "I liked how they went on a trip to mountains."

"I liked how they ended up together." He said.

"You're an old school, offcourse you'd like that." I tried to tease him but then I bit on my tongue at my stupidity.

What if it offended him?

He blinked before grabbing his phone and googling the meaning of old school.

I observed him for a moment. The way his brows creased together when the search result comes and the way his lips slightly parted when he reads about it. I don't know if it was because I was in pain or overburdened with my emotions that it took me this long to realise that he's handsome. Too handsome.

Brown eyes, thick brows, trimmed beard, a faded scar at the corner of his forehead, sharp jawline and jet black hair.

I reached for the scar on his forehead and the second I touched it, I sensed his eyes flickering at me. Blood rushed to my face but I softly grazed my thumb over it. "How?"

"Uh, I fell from the stairs when I was nine. I had stitches and-" He stop in middle when our eyes met.

I couldn't help but notice that how beautiful his eyelashes are.

My heart started thumping louder against my ribcage and there was something about the situation I was in with him that my hand slowly glides down his cheeks and I touched his beard. It trickles against my fingers and my brows forrowed when I saw a small cut at the corner of his lips.

His lips.

I was about to touch it when his jaw tightened. "Don't, please."

I froze, snapping back to reality but didn't move an inch away from him.

"Please, I don't want to lose control, Rabya." He whispered, grabbing my wrist to stop my fingers from touching his lips.

I sucked into deep breath and felt his words echoing in the back of my head.
