(Mia's POV)
Char and I were getting ready for the Knight Family annual Halloween ball. This was Char's first year going and I couldn't wait to show her off to everyone there. "Ready to see the costume I bought you sweetheart," I say holding a white box with her costume inside. "I think so," she says excitedly, but also slightly nervously. She sits on the sofa and I put the costume box on her lap before the unties the string and opens it. "I hope you like it my angel," she says reading the note aloud before unfolding the dress. It was a short white dress with a corset attached and some white angel wings and a hallow. "An angel?" She says smiling. "Well you're my little angel," I smile.
"You're going as a devil aren't you?" She says looking at me with raised eyebrows. "Don't look at me like that," I tease. "And obviously, though it would be a cute couple's costume." "It is very cute," she says admiring the wings. "What's your costume?" "That sweetheart is a surprise," I say winking. "Can't wait," she says beaming.
"I should probably tell you a few knight family ball ground rules sweetheart," I say sitting next to her on the bed. "And what might those be?" Char asks. "Well rule one is never question how much Autumn drinks," I start. "Thought that was a given," Char says under her breath. "Well rule two," I say. "Is don't go to the toilets expecting to actually use the toilet, I think you can imagine why." "I can," Char laughs. "And rule three is less of a rule and more advice," I start. "But it's if Rodger tries to get under your skin throw in an insult about his eyebrows. They're his biggest insecurity and he'll be running a mile."
"Ok," Char sniggers. "I'm so excited for tonight. My first Halloween ball." "First of many I hope," I say reaching out and holding her hand. "Now we'd best get ready." I put some music on in the background and we sit in front of the mirror to start getting ready. I admire Char in the mirror, curling her hair while I do makeup. "You're a stunning angel," I say blending my foundation into my skin. "Shut up gorgeous," she smiles. "You know it makes me feel so lucky knowing someone like you could pull anyone you wanted and you chose me."
"Always sweetheart," I say. "I mean look at you you're smoking. You've also got a heart of gold and I'm lucky you chose me." I finish my makeup and grab the straighteners to sort out my bangs while Char starts on hers. "I'd better get changed," I say as I finish doing my hair. "I'll be back." "Where are you off to?" Char asks seeing me leaving in the mirror. "To get changed," I say. "I told you my costume's a surprise, also why would you want to watch me get changed anyway?" "No reason," Char giggles as I leave the room.
I find the box with my costume in it, which I'd hidden at the back of the storage cupboard. I take out the box and go back upstairs and into the bathroom. I unbox the ribbon and take out the black lingerie and Red Devil horns, along with a pair of black boots. Once I'm changed, I take a towel and wrap it around myself before going back to the bedroom.
"Hey my sweetheart," Char says turning around at the mirror. She looks me up and down, realising I'm wearing a towel. "You... are wearing something right?" "Yes," I laugh. "Sorry, but I'm not getting arrested tonight." "Amelia Roberts!" She gasps. "What do you mean sorry?" "Sweetheart I know you're an angel but you're not all that innocent," I tease. "Close your eyes then." Char closes her eyes and I release the towel wrapped around me. "Open." She opens her eyes and her jaw drops at the sight of my outfit.
She says nothing for a few moments, but her heavy breaths and red face speak enough words. "Amelia," she whispers. "I... I'm... I... umm.... Y... y.... You're....." "Use your words," I tease. "Y... you're m... mine?" She stammers. "Yes sweetheart I'm yours," I say smiling while stroking my inner thigh. "You look gorgeous already by the way."
"Wait til you see me in costume," she says smiling as she gets up. "If I can make you even half as flustered as you've made me I'll call that a win." "Bet," I say as she grabs the box. "Turn around," she says. I turn around and cover my eyes as she gets dressed, trying to sneak a few looks at her while her back is turned because apparently I am no better than a man. "Turn around," she finally says.
