(Char's POV)
I wake up next to Mia, her arms wrapped loosely around me as she stays fast asleep. I look lovingly at my gorgeous wife sleeping so peacefully, her eyelids so perfectly shut and small wisps from her bangs draped over her eyes. "I love you," I whisper faintly in her ear before kissing the edge of it gently. I release my arms from hers, being careful not the wake her up, before going to wake up the twins. "Cece, Fraya," I say faintly opening their bedroom door. "Good morning my sweetie pies." The girls sit up in their beds, rubbing their eyes and stretching their arms as far as they can reach. "Morning Mummy," Cece yawns reaching her arms out to me for a cuddle. "Up up pwease!"
I come over to her bed and pick her up onto my hip. "Good morning Cece, did you have a nice sleep my darling?" "Leap well," she nods cutely. "Panda no leap well." "Why didn't the panda sleep well?" I ask. Cece shakes her head. "Panda fall off." She points down to beside her bed where one of her panda teddies had fallen during the night." I bend down to pick it up with my free hand and pass it back to Cece. "Oh dear the poor panda!" "Up up!" Fraya pipes from her bed. I keep Cece under one arm and do my best to scoop Fraya up at the same time which I just about managed. "Oh my goodness you two need to stop growing so much, it's really tricky for Mummy to carry you both!"
"Please never grow up my sweet girls" I think to myself as I carry them both downstairs, just about managing without them slipping. I start making breakfast for the girls, waiting for Mia to finally wake up. Just as I've put their cereal bowls in front of them I feel a pair of warm arms wrap around my waist, and soft lips kiss my neck. "Hello love," Mia whispers in my ear before planting another kissing on my neck. "How are you this morning?" "I'm good thanks baby," I smile, turning around to give her a peck on the lips. "I thought you'd never wake up you were asleep for so long." "I was tired," she shrugs. "I heard you whisper I love you in my sleep by the way."
I can feel my cheeks turning pink. "You... heard that? Amelia I thought you were asleep." "I was," she says giving me another kiss on the lips. "Just very lightly so I could hear your little whisper my sweet angel cake." I hide my face in the crook of her head, her hand quickly lifting my chin back up to meet her eyes. "Aww don't hide sweetheart I think you're really cute and I happen to have done this crazy thing where I fell in love with you so now everything you do is adorable and perfect and I want to capture it forever." My mouth gapes open and my cheeks turn even redder and Mia kisses me before I can even mutter a response.
"You're cute," I mumble nervously. "I have a crush on you." Mia replies with a breathy laugh, lifting my chin up to plant a soft kiss onto my lips, and then a couple more down my neck. "Sweetheart we're married." "S...Sorry s...say that again?" I stammer. "We're married," she repeats with a small laugh. "We... are married." "Oh my goodness," I whisper. "You have no idea how attractive that sounds when you say it out loud." Mia smiles softly, lifting my chin to place a delicate kiss on my lips and looking into my eyes for a few moments after. I giggle at the slight awkward silence. "What?" "You're pretty that's all," she shrugs.
We're snapped out loving trance when the girls that hitting the trays on their high chairs and shout "all done!" We take them both out their high chairs and onto the floor. "Morning pumpkin morning panda," Mia says. "Where's my morning mamma cuddle huh?" She kneels down and opens her arms out for the girls to run into her in a cute embrace. Cece leans herself so far into the cuddle, the hood on her onsie covers her eyes and she wanders around all confused as she lets go. "Where Mamma?" She turns the other way and walks back into Mia again. "Where Mamma?" She hits her head on Mia's arms, still not noticing the hood over her eyes when we rubs her head. "Ouchie!"
Mia laughs hysterically at her daughter's antics before eventually moving the hood off her face to uncover her eyes. "Here's Mamma my funny girl! You had the hood over your eyes!" She playfully tickles her under her chin, making Cece laugh hysterically. Fraya giggles infectiously watching the whole thing stood by my feet. "Up?" She asks reaching her arms up to me before I take her up into my arms. Once I've picked her up she suddenly covers my eyes with her hands before taking them off quickly and shouting "eek a oo!"
And again. "Eek a oo!" "Peak a boo?" I laugh finally clocking what she's doing after the fifth time. "Are you playing peak a boo with Mummy?""Eek a oo!" She exclaims clapping her hands excitedly. "Eek a oo!" Cece joins in covering and uncovering Mia's eyes. Once they finally stopped Mia combs through Cece's hair with her fingers very gently. "You know that cute little hairstyle Autumn always does on the girls when she has them?" "I do," I nod. "Well I was thinking," Mia says. "That I could try it on them today. I know Autumn's the expert but I can give it a go."
I stand back and just smile at her, the puzzled look she gives me eventually breaking my trance. "Sweetheart is there a reason for that dopey grin you've got on your face all of a sudden." "Umm... yeah," I blush. "Sorry it's just one of those silly little things I've always dreamed about. You know, the love of my life doing my daughters' hair in all kinds of cute styles." "You're cute," Mia smiles before taking Cece's hand as we all head over to the living room, Mia quickly running upstairs to get the hair supplies for the girls.
I sit on the edge of the sofa as Mia kneels on the floor with the girls and starts combing their hair. She's out bluey on in the background so they'd both sit still while she does it. I feel my eyes start to glisten as I just sit back and watch my wife do our daughters' hair so carefully and beautifully. She ties them in the little space buns Autumn always does for them with bows tied around them. Pink bows for Cece and yellow bows for Fraya.
Once she's done, Mia comes to the sofa and throws her arms around me in a tight embrace. "Don't cry bless you I don't like it when you cry." "They're happy tears," I sniff. "This just makes me emotional seeing you doing their hair they grow up too fast." She keeps holding me while my tears fade, planting soft kisses behind my ear and on my forehead. "I love you my sensitive baby." "I love you too," I mumble. Mia reaches for my heart necklace, clasping then end of it loosely before bringing it up to her lips to kiss it. "We've come a long way haven't we?" "Indeed," I smile. "To think I once told people you and I were friends." Mia laughs breathily. "Friends huh? You are funny sweetheart." She lifts my chin up to kiss me softly. "Charlotte Roberts."
