We were still racing. Swerving past cars that got in front of us and leaving them in our dust when they fell behind.
I'm sure I had looked like a maniac, but I had felt so alive.
That was until I felt like I was going to die.
I sped up to end the race. Just when I inched ahead, the next thing I knew I was on the ground.
And everything was black.

"Woah hey man. I asked him to come because I didn't want to come alone and he's intimidating." Dice blurted.
"Yeah right. He came to back you up. I know how this works." He pulled out the gun with a shaky hand and pointed it at Dice. I think I lost my mind at this point.
"Seriously. You think we're trying to kill you. We just came to deliver this stupid package so can you just take it and we'll be on our way. It's that simple." I said.
Dice nudged my side with his elbow.
"Dude. Shut up. He has a fricking gun." He whispered.
Yeah. I know. I should shut up.
"Are you mocking me, kid? Do you think this is funny?" He asked.
"I think it's hilarious." I gave him a mocking fake smile.
Shut up! What am I saying?
"I have a gun!" He yelled still shaking the gun in our faces.
"Yeah I can see that. You've been waving it around for days now."
What's wrong with me?
His face actually looked red now.
"That's it. I tried to be nice." He said.
"Did you though?"
"You're asking for it kid."
"Yeah. I am asking for it."
No! I'm not!
Dice elbowed me again, but this time harder.
"I'm really gonna do it."
"Do it, then." I dared him.
Don't do it!
"I will."
"Okay."
Please don't do it!
"This is stupid." The guy on the left grabbed something from the waist on his pants.
Fuck.
I heard a gunshot and my head whipped around to look at Dice. He had a horrified expression on his face but it was directed at my torso. I looked down to see blood leaking from my T-shirt.
I hadn't even noticed that I had been walking backwards until I saw Dice in front of me. The momentum of getting shot must have pushed me backwards. I continued to walk because if I didn't I felt like I might fall to the ground.
I heard another gunshot and this time I was falling to the ground. But my feet were not longer on the roof of building B.
As I was falling, all I could think about was how beautiful the sky had looked. It was such a beautiful day, and here I was, falling to my death.
I hit the ground.

"That's it Ryland! I can't take this anymore!" My mother burst into my room.
