"Ryland?" Haylin asked.
"She said she wasn't coming." Ryder said.
"I guess this is going to be it today, then." Haylin said. It had been a week since the last meeting. Everyone who had voted against using their powers didn't show. I was surprised that even Misa didn't show up just to see Ace.
"Is it going to be like this from now on?" Ryder asked.
"They made their decision." Ace said.
"It's just a small difference in opinion. They'll get over it eventually." Haylin attempted to comfort the group.
"Then should we start figuring out how we're going to practice using our powers." I suggested.
"I don't think we can do it here. Some of our powers are a bit-" Haylin trailed off.
"We should probably find somewhere secluded. The less people the better. We don't want to draw any attention to ourselves." Ace said.
"I guess." Ryder agreed.
"Do you have anything in mind?" I asked.
"I mean there aren't a lot of places around that have enough space for us." Haylin shrugged.
Evina shook her head.
"I might have an idea." Ryder said.

"I don't see why we're meeting. We're the ones that are against using powers." Catya said.
"I just think we should stick together. We're all connected for a reason." I explained. "Just because we aren't using our powers doesn't mean we can't help each other in other ways."
"Help each other? I don't even really like anyone of you guys that much." Catya said.
"The feelings mutual." Kade said.
"We can't really talk to anyone but each other. So, Catya, whether you like it or not we're all you've got." Xander said.
"Whatever. Fine. Can we at least find a better meeting place?" Catya said as she took a seat on a lounge chair.
Xander had suggested the school's indoor pool. He'd gotten the keys from the coach for extra practice. It was off school campus so we didn't have to worry much about security guards.
"This was the best I could do on short notice." Xander said. "You're welcome to find something better."
"So what do we do now?" Ryland asked. She looked at me.
Technically I was the one who suggested we meet but I didn't really have a plan.
"Well, Haylin's grandpa said the Octagon chose us because we are lonely so I thought maybe we could just become friends?" I said. I smiled cheerily hoping it would help. It didn't.
"That's a bit unrealistic." Catya said.
Kade sighed.
"I mean. It's not that easy." Catya explained.
"For once, I agree." Ryland said.
"We could at least try." I said.
"I mean I don't hate you guys." Kade said.
